Before:

lived in a cabin in Alaska played music for a living, wrote songs all day, traveled the world getting paid to play music, f~~~ed beautiful German, Russian and Scandinavian cupcakes (AWALT. EU women are even sluttier than US but MUCH better looking) paid off my truck two years early always had money, worked six months out of the year traveled and played the rest of the time. Had zero debt.

After Marriage: Nine years in to the relationship over seven years married. Haven’t taken a vacation in years, live paycheck to paycheck and, was a stay home dad for five years, $57,000 in student debt, $10,000 in credit debt, I haven’t written a song in five years, can’t stand playing music anymore even though that’s when I’m still forced to do for work, making less money than I ever have in my adult life while waiting for new entertainment business to build up, hate where I live, no money to travel anymore, zero money in the bank zero investments zero retirement. Can’t leave stuck for now. At least there’s nothing for her to take in a divorce but debt. I’ll get out eventually and be fine be fine. This business is my retirement so once it starts making cash I’m out.

Young men. DO NOT MARRY. There’s literally no reason to do so and it’s suicide on every single level for you. Don’t f~~~ing do it.

There are so many aspects to a man that one or many are always lacking when you’re wearing the yoke of marriage.

If sex is good then money and freedom will be lacking.

If money is good you’re working so hard that sex doesn’t happen and every minute is accounted for.

If you have freedom then she’s already banging Chad.

X2 for what Shreddage said. Keep women a temporary fixture and do what you want. New girls turn 18 every day.

Once I had a repairman over, and he said the very same words without asking. He was just telling that to let out stress and truth of his mind to someone.

This was one of my early red-pill moments. Marriage can be really bad, if a random person randomly just says that without asking. (It is not just I’m unlucky with love and that my parents are psycho-idiots, but marriage is bad in general.)

I stated in my original post that I am worse off in every conceivable way. However financially I am trapped. The sex has nothing to do with it.

I understand what Shreddage is saying. Even if you get all the sex you want, your sovereignty is still compromised. He was his own man, person, being and now he’s indebted on every level of his life.

I can give a case study:

Before – had a decent job (didn’t make a ton, but saved/invested a lot). Got to do what I wanted, when I wanted. Had lots of quiet time. No GF, so no BS issues to deal with.

After – make more money, but wife finds way to spend it. Married someone who has the maturity of a 14 year old. Sex – hasn’t happened more than a few times in the past six or seven years. The one thing she can do well is sit on her ass playing computer games and nagging me about stupid crap. Can’t stand to be around her most of the time. I take the kids out on weekends so we don’t have to be around her.

@crowbar. Your scenario sounds like pure Hell.

What have you done today to make your/the kids lives better without her?

The cheaper to keep her scenario just builds her case for longer and more alimony. If she’s a useless wife today she’ll just be a more expensive one years from now.

Consider letting the kids experience some unpleasantness now to show them that long term happiness beats temporary security.

You’ll still be the fun parent, even if you aren’t there everyday.

My kids are only 5 and in kindergarten. I take them out to the park to play on weekends without Mommy – don’t need her there bitching about how tired she is, how there’s too many people at the park, why she wants to stop to eat so that we can spend more money, etc.

She does have a job (teacher) so she makes a decent salary plus benefits. However, when she comes home, she plops her ass on the couch and plays her computer games with the TV on. Constantly complains about how tired she is, how fat she is, etc., but does nothing about it. Also has this notion in her head that acting like a teenager is endearing to people and nobody can disabuse her of this notion.

Right now, I’m just hiding money in my business account (I bring home enough to cover bills) and bide my time. If we divorced, she’s the type that would tell the kids what a d-bag Daddy is (but don’t tell him I said that). Her sister (who I can’t stand) is like this (her kids are HS-college age) – tells them how horrible their dad is (her son, who’s a good kid, told me how he had to tell his mom to knock it off).
