I’m starting to think the early hippies were the roots in a sense of the modern MGTOW. The whole “turn on, tune in, drop out” mentality. Diehard people who threw away the materialism and the societal expectations to do whatever the fk they wanted. Whether it was riding around in a van with a bunch of strangers doing drugs, or just immersing themselves in music, whatever. They saw society as being fked up and too controlling and decided they wanted no part of it. In some sense, like many MGTOW. Many hippies engaged in the whole “pump and dump” mentality back then.

The 90’s were the last decent decade. I’m not saying it was the best decade ever, but things weren’t totally f~~~ed everywhere, tons of new technology was coming out, and it seemed that the future was within our grasp.
