I was reading some carry-on here in Oz about female playwrights – “only 44% of plays are by local female playwrights!”, as though they seriously expect exact parity (morons) – and thought, if I ever enter anything it will be under the nom de plume ‘Julia’.

And if I win, I’ll march up there, say, “it’s pronounced ‘hoo-li-a’!” and give a speech in the thickest, stupidest Spanish accent I can muster.

And will I grin…
