One of the men where I work crushed his hands in a press break today. I did not go look, but I heard it was bad. How it did not cut them off completely I do not know. I did hear the screaming and it went on for a minute or so, or rather it was a yell until breath could be taken and then another yell….it was f~~~ing horrible. It went on long enough that I wasn’t sure what was happening, because the shop did not stop. I was not near the area where it happened, but I could still hear him. The paramedics were there for a while, so I’m hoping that meant it is not as bad as I imagine. I’m just letting it out guys, because I need too. Thanks for reading and let’s keep him in our thoughts.

    sorry to hear that.
the medics were probably giving him pain medicine.
hopefully he gets off easy with some broken bones and nothing worse.
    a prayer couldn’t hurt !

I hope he’s OK. My favorite uncle quit high school to work in a tool and die shop. On the very first day he got his arm caught in a press and lost the damn thing from the elbow down. But as a kid you don’t think of the pain, just that Uncle Jim had a way cool hook for a hand!

Here’s our ‘male privilege’ at work – while the elite
femtards and their lib mangina supporters whose only injury was to be offended by something sit at the computer desk and gripe about how hard they have it.

Lifes a bitch, but you don't have to marry one!

Press break? That’s not good! I worked in a shop where a guy got both hands amputated in one, they couldn’t get the machine to reverse prying it with a long bar, so they had to cycle it to get him out, I wasn’t there when it happened but heard all about it. He wasn’t wearing the safety hand straps timed to pull your hands out if the operator hasn’t already. They had one big punch press set on autofeed that hardly ever had its guard in place, it could pop your head like a grape under a sledgehammer! I hated that place and only lasted a few months.

    Sounds like he’s f~~~ed, I feel sorry for him…

Sorry to hear about your coworker. I have been injured pretty badly before and have seen men around me suffer much worse than I have as well in life.

I have a dream- No, I am not MLK, but here it goes-

All men strike and flee to the woods to forage and hunt, women are then forced to maintain the world as they know it if they would like to keep it all as it is, as they certainly do enjoy the spoils of men’s labor, but never do any of the risky or dirty or hard stuff to keep it all rolling along. I give it a few weeks before everything is f~~~ed and they come running to us begging forgiveness…S~~~, maybe a few days.

I will pray that he is not seriously injured and recovers. Never underestimate the power of prayer.

    I work heavy industrial construction.

    Think power plants and refineries.

I know all to well that “it” can happen in a split second.

I hope he will be ok.

    Stay alert.

Today I heard that it isn’t as bad as I had imagined, it was a damn press break after all, and there are some broken bones of course, but other than that it is just the swelling that needs to go down so they can do an MRI or something of that nature. So it is sounding good. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. Clearly prayer/positive thinking or whatever did its job. You guys and this site are the greatest thing since sliced bread! Thank you.
