Just joined and have browsed many topics. I’m confident i’ll get great advice regarding my situation.

I moved to MI back in January of this year. My soon to be ex was supposed to come with me. She wanted to visit her mom and take our son with her, so i let her go to NE. Well, she decides to stay there and like always, her mom starts whispering s~~~ in her ear bout how i don’t treat her right (After i just payed a round trip ticket to go see her ass). We have had problems in the past, she had an emotional affair with some D-bag from london. Obviously she forgot about that and can’t figure out why i stopped treating her like i used to. At this point though, I’ve been here in MI for six months, I got a lawyer and filed for divorce because she has kept the location of my son hidden. I have not seen him for 7 months. I just went to the police station because my lawyer said we could try to file for parental kidnapping, but obviously they can’t do anything since we are still married.

My lawyer has laid out different plans for what we could do. Which have changed 3 times before even stepping in court once. We filed the divorce, served her, and then she responded by serving me from the state of NE for child support but not for divorce. I have emails from her stating she doesn’t have money and if i dont help her, CPS will take the baby away. And like a fool i helped her. I also have proof of her saying she is intentionally hiding my sons location from me. Because of the jurisdictional issues, my lawyer seems to be having a hard time figuring out what to do. So i guess my question is, with keeping my  situation in mind, what should i be looking for in a lawyer that mine might not be doing? and should i get another lawyer? Thanks in advance.

I am sorry for your situation.

I wish i couldn’t give a suggestion, but i live in other country where laws are different from yours.

I believe you need to get a GOOD LAWYER who has experience in dealing family disputes like yours.

Kindly, look for the lawyer who has the reputation in dealing such cases.

Hang on, someone here with vast experience will reply. be strong. God Bless!

    I hate lawyers.

From your post I gather you’re in the UK. We actually contacted a Men’s speciality divorce law firm in the UK just yesterday and asked them if they would like us to advertise for them for guys in your situation.

I needed a lawyer when I was working in a foreign country and they didn’t do their jobs. They were not operating in my best interest at all. THAT’s what you have to insist upon. I ended up firing his ass and getting another one. I walked into his office and said “I’m standing on a ledge right now and I need to know that you will be 100% in my corner and treat my case as if you were ME”. That got his attention and within weeks – AFTER WAITING 3 YEARS – the situation was resolved.

It p~~~ed me off so much that it only takes THE WILL to make something happen.
it’s like the previous attorney didn’t even WANT to.

If you have the slightest SNIFF that they don’t give a s~~~ about you…. ditch that bitch.
That’s my personal take only – from experience – although I have not gone through what you are going through.

Shame on her mother for whispering in her ear that you don’t treat her right.
In this kind of situation, treating her with ANY DECENCY AT ALL is treating her TOO WELL.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

Hi Bih13. I’m so sorry for you! I apologize in advance for the negative slant of this post but I’m afraid I have no useful advice for you, ( beside taking your lawyer to a dark alley and threaten to make him eat his testicles for dinner if he doesn’t take your case as a life or death matter ) having myself had first-row ticket to “The destruction of Daddy” show and “Get his dough!” premiere. They didn’t even have the common courtesy to pretend they weren’t reaming my ass with that gavel while my lawyer looked like his moustache was the only thing that made him male.  Our entire society has turned to pussy catering and the societal death of Men. It doesn’t matter what part of the world you’re in, you’re gonna get s~~~ and p~~~ed on by the injustice system giving you the runarounds while the mother and grandmother of your child poison his mind against you.

What I’d advise you to do is something I can’t advise you do. I really hope I’m wrong as usual and that you get your son.

Don't let them Blame, Shame or Tame you!
Give 'em NOTHING, not even an answer!
