We JUST finished a finalized permanent solution to this. Thank Christ. It sucks my very soul.
We have everyone’s avatar files all backed up, but the references to them can go screwy if the site goes down because they are partially managed by gravatar.com.
SO we created a solution effective about an hour ago!!!
We have been testing it on about 20 or 30 and it works great. You will notice at the bottom of your profile (click in the menu bar , or you will arrive there every time you log in)….. we are now recording your very last upload and storing it in a new field permanently. Look at the bottom of your profile page and you will see it “Permanently backed up”. So the next time you upload an avatar that reference will be stored and we can get it later if we need to.
I just did it for Russky, Hitman (I cropped his Gozilla pic manually) , MGTOW pirate, Rennie, Lucifer, Cap, and a s~~~load more…. and I just noticed iLearn uploaded his while we were testing. Then he uploaded another one which overwrote it – so it’s working.
FINALLY. Please feel free to test it yourself.
The output is visible to logged in users at the bottom of your profile page.
/profileExample
• The PROFILE PIC is what you last uploaded and we are getting the display from.
• The AVATAR is the permanent storage recorded from that.
• If you upload a new one, both will be overwritten as soon as you reload your profile. With new profile pages coming ASAP this s~~~ will be a thing of the past.
We will get the url of your last upload and pull your profile pic from that.In conclusion, your next upload will be your last – even if there are display issues.
Just log in to your profile and you will see we have your last upload permanently.Eventually we will say “get the last uploaded avatar for this member and display that” to override everything.
If you decide to upload a new one any time, that will override it.We’re very sorry about the frustration this caused.

Also… we changed back to http://www.mgtow.com today.
The site was operating as mgtow.com (without the WWW) since the last outage, and that had to be changed IMMEDIATELY.If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.- AuthorPosts
