An Orange County software consultant said today his divorce prompted him to write an initiative that would end alimony.

“I was able to experience first-hand the many pitfalls associated with the process,” said Steve Clark, executive director of the Huntington Beach- based CalAlimonyReform.org.

“The amount of time and money coupled with the emotional stress was more than I could have ever anticipated.”

Backers of the initiative received permission this week from Secretary of State Alex Padilla to begin gathering signatures. The group has until Nov. 2 to obtain valid signatures from 365,880 registered voters — 5 percent of the total votes cast for governor in the 2014 general election — to qualify the measure for the November 2016 ballot.

If approved by voters, the initiative would end a court’s ability to award and enforce alimony, also known as spousal support, during marriage, upon legal separation, divorce or annulment.

End of alimony in Cali? I hope this moves into other states and perhaps in Canada.

This would never happen.  I could see it dying in the state senate or something.  If alimony is ended the the welfare roles would expand from epic to galactic proportions.

Also, it would probably get voted down.  Men are busy working while women go to the poles to say ‘Nay’.  Or actually to say, ‘I don’t think I should have to work for a living”.

If they audited all child support money to see that it goes to the child there would be a giant sucking sound from all the worlds vagina’s passing one terrified quif.

I’m surprised that this is even being suggested in California. I will be completely shocked if it actually passes. But wether it passes or not, it does openly question the ‘sacred’ alimony practices in that state. That question is going to require an answer, and the answer will have to be as public as the question. Regardless of the answer, if it can be openly questioned, then it is not quite as sacred as it was before when it was above discussion.

If it’s not scared there, it isn’t sacred anywhere. I won’t get my hopes up, but I will follow the story to see what the answer is…

It would never catch on here in Alberta once the NDP takes over as the governing party.  It has the philosophy is that one has the right to live as high on the hog as possible, so long as someone else is footing the bill.

Ain’t gonna happen. Too many people make too good a living off the divorce industry.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

It doesn’t have to happen the first time around.  the important thing is that it is discussed and the male perspective gets some publicity.

@crazyCanuck Great to see you visit again!

Leykis pointed this out more than once. This is ironic. Attorneys are rarely thinking they need a prenup because they don’t think it will happen to them. Amazing. But certainly wish this guy every success with that. Perhaps he will set a precedent and make a dent.

You know, WOMEN could end this right now if they wanted to. ONE high profile divorce ex-wife could shatter it all – overnight. She could take it right to the press and it would be all over the country. A real first. When she gets awarded $XX million, she could say: “NO your honor. I’m not taking all of that no matter how much you order him to pay. $2 million is plenty and more than I deserve. I loved you . Im sorry it didn’t work out. But I don’t need or want $30 million and I sure as s~~~ don’t need $7K a month in child support”.

But there isn’t a woman on God’s Green Earth that would do that. And they know it.
They exploit female nature knowing she will bleed him to the last drop and love every second of it – even if it kills him.

… and they think it is their “right”.

ONE woman could change this – immediately – more than an entire army of attorneys.
But they will dismiss his pain and cause because 1. He’s a man and 2. because of “personal bias”.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

Thanks. Tom Leykis has a live stream on right now 3 pm PST or 6 pm EST. He had the guy from the alimony reform website on air. I been listing to Tim Leykis for a month on his live stream. I would register to vote and sign the petition however I don’t live in Cali so it’s pointless. I’m sure there’s plenty of MGTOW still paying alimony.
