Read the article, that was hilarious. The premise is that women stay in bad relationships for finances, yet the 2 examples they give don’t fit that scenario.

Case 1 – Women enters a relationship for financial reasons of her own free will, not really knowing the guy she’s moving in with. Surprisingly, things don’t go well.

Case 2 – Women enters relationship with a “bad guy nobody else understands”, living on government assistance, with drug issues and no car. Surprisingly, “bad guy” actually is a bad guy, and abuses her.

The title of the article should be “Women who make poor choices end up in bad situations”.

From what i have checked there are plenty of homeless shelters for women. Not only are there homeless shelters but government funded housing and ebt so the chance of them dying being homeless is very slim. Also manhattan will always be expensive women just want to live there due to the fame over the much cheaper other boroughs.

Believe it or not the majority of “liberal” environmental housing and zoning laws passed by most local governments are ignored or supported by the National Association of Realtors.

If the free market were allowed to function most houses would be paid off in 10-15 years and renting would be cheap.

I’ve mentioned this before but it’s relevant so I’ll mention it again. Once I was talking with a female friend about the economy and said to her “You know how you can tell when the economy has really made a turn for the better? Sharp uptick in divorce filings.”

My theory: Married women come to the conclusion that they’re ready to trade up at a relatively constant rate, with possibly some seasonal spikes around Christmas and Valentine’s Day. During a down economy, however, divorce filings (predonimantly done by women) will drop as women stay in “bad” relationships to avoid getting a lower settlement and having to enter a weak job/dating market.

But they don’t divorce at the initial upswing… they stick around for a little while to appear to be supportive to their “broken wing bird” husbands and get them back on the earning track so that they can maximize their future alimony dollars.

A woman who divorces while the market is dropping is a fool. If she divorces at the bottom, the man may simply snap and stay at the bottom. But if they divorce on a strong uptick, they can appear to have been loyal through the downturn and then blame the change on some other factor. Plus economically well positioned men will spend like sailors in the upswing of a new bubble so it’s the best time to do a lateral jump for a promotion.
