Article: More people are living alone

Here is an article talking about how the number of Americans living alone is increasing. I won’t go into all the statistics. You can read the article for yourselves. (See link at the bottom of the post.)

But here is the take-away point, I think: The article puts the blame on men. It says that when men don’t earn enough to support a family, they put off marriage.

“All signs point to the growing fragility of the male wage earner,” said Cheryl Russell, a demographer and editorial director at the New Strategist Press. “The demographic segments most likely to be living without a partner are the ones in which men are struggling the most — young adults, the less educated, Hispanics, and blacks.”

They go on to say that $40,000 a year seems to be the cut-off. When a guy earns less than $40k, he is less likely to marry. Meantime, guys who earn over $40k are still getting married at the normal pace.

But to me, that kind of shows a red-pill awareness in the public at large: People are aware that marriage is EXPENSIVE (in more ways than one), and so they don’t want to risk it until they have some cash to throw away. In the old days, guys didn’t worry about the cost of getting married. Now they do.

So that tells me that guys are at least beginning to wise up a little bit about the nature of marriage and what it entails. It’s all about the cash flow.

Also, note that the article doesn’t have much to say about female wage earners. When the analysts look at American society as a whole, the guys are still the main wage earners (and probably always will be). Female wage-earners don’t even show up in the stats. So it’s for the guys to decide whether the marriage happens or not.

Seriously, all these articles making these ridiculous accusations against men for all the ills of society, they leave out that one crucial piece. Why should i give a f~~~?

Society does not give a f~~~ about me. If i get married, i will have my life ruined by the woman i married, and the state will sanction it. So why the f~~~ should i care about women or society? Why should i lift a single goddamn finger to support either of them? Give me one good reason.

Any man that earn enough to marry and raise a family, should not by no means get married EVER.

Men who are not able to make it, should get married so they get the help of the women who also should work.

I am LOOKING FORWARD to the day when I can LIVE ALONE AGAIN. Currently, I still live in the “family dwelling”, but at least I have my own portion of the house.

I do get quiet times, and it’s a teaser of my future life.

I plan on living alone the rest of my life. Why marry, and then have to buy a huge house, to keep HER happy? I don’t want kids. I don’t need a 4 bedroom house, and all the work to keep it up, and the cost to furnish it – and then keep paying for it all when she decides to get divorced on a whim. I’m seriously considering downsizing to a 40′ sailboat, because it’s even less upkeep and nonsense that a house/condo would give me – and I’d be able to sail! Alone! I hate stuff – and to me, a woman in my life means being buried in stuff. (that I get to pay for, and she ultimately gets to keep.) I’m not a participant in the consumer lifestyle, and it’s so rare to run into a woman who’s the same it’s basically a myth. I GET the tiny home movement, but when guys do it. When women go tiny home, they cram it full of the Target stuff I’m trying to avoid!

I wouldn’t mind living with someone if they didn’t mind cooking and cleaning and knew when to stfu and let me enjoy some quiet time on occasion, but modern women can’t do any of that, so why the hell would I want to live with any of them?

The only real benefit to living with someone is to split bills, but I don’t need the extra few hundred bucks a month I might save with a room mate that badly, and if I did it would be a platonic room mate and the finances would be a business arrangement for us both, not part of a relations~~~ deal.

I would expect no less. Regardless of who or what they blame it changes nothing. Men are leaving the building and until the c~~~s figure out it’s them not us they better be prepared to work long hours.
