Isn’t this week the one year anniversary of the female designed and built bridge collapse

No longer can we walk away, we must run. Remove the motive power.

In all of these, notice there are no more women from that company being asked to talk about their Magnificent bridge!

From Milo’s article, and quoting the woman herself that worked for the company:

Diversity quotas have been a pain to many men trying to enter the STEM fields off of pure talent alone, but can these quotas have more sinister consequences?

Last Thursday, Florida International University’s new “instant bridge” collapsed leaving six dead, including one student.

Leonor Flores, project executive at MCM, one of the companies responsible for the construction of the bridge, had this to say shorty before the bridge collapse:

“It’s very important for me as a woman and an engineer to be able to promote that to my daughter, because I think women have a different perspective. We’re able to put in an artistic touch and we’re able to build, too.”

Although MCM is owned by five brothers, the top rung of the company is largely female, including several female construction workers. In contrast to Flores’s statement about prettiness, other engineers might argue that an “artistic touch” is less important than, say, making sure your structure doesn’t collapse and kill people.

Fox News reports that both MCM and Figgs, the companies in charge of constructing the bridge, have a record of failures and fines – and there is now an accusation that MCM hired “incompetent, inexperienced, unskilled or careless employees.”

You are all alone. If you have been falsely accused of RAPE, DV, PLEASE let all men know about the people who did this. http://register-her.net/web/guest/home

Never forget DIVERSITY IS OUR STRENGTH!

Today in PDX, we got some of that diversity TOO!
