I didn’t know about this deepfake technology or it being used for porn. Bit of a step up from photoshopping on a new face.

Is it wrong to find this highly amusing?

Well, artificial intelligence can (most of the time) drive a car, recognize a face and replace it, write speech to text and (approximately) translate it.

In a decade, a piece of hardware not bigger than a laptop, with less than tens of watts of power, may be able to control a cyborg that can do any basic stuff that a human can do. Good side: sex bots (if they don’t get banned), and less traffic accidents by drunk / tired drivers. Bad side: terminator-like war machines (because wars are always created by idiot politicians). Or absolutely unstoppable totalitarianism and police-state (where the world is going nowadays anyway) with unimaginable power in the hands of the politicians.

And, if some AI written by some hobbyists can do deepfake porn, what can the AIs of big companies (also having lots of training data) do now?
