Are we in a war over intelligence?

In general, people are going to make decision about what they do in life, what is right or wrong, based on two different ways. They will either gather evidence about the situation and draw a logical conclusion, or they will listen to the drama and go with what feels right…aka emotional intelligence.

You could look at the various political battles going on in the US and Western culture in terms of logic vs feelings instead of left vs right.

Taking US immigration. Those that chose logic the cause and effect, and make the logical choice that there must be immigration enforcement. Those that feel only see families in need and therefore immigration must continue without barriers.

Take sexual assault cases. The logical believe in innocent until proven guilty. The felling types just see a hurt woman and a stable man…and that feels wrong, so he must be guilty.

Take opinions on Trump. Those that are logical see his faults and the results of his actions. They see it’s not ideal but way better than the alternative. They feeling types just see faults and don’t like him, he must be evil. They cannot see the economy and growth as a positive, because of how they feel.

No human is really completely logical or completely emotional. In some sense, we all have an enteral struggle between what is logical and how we feel. Within a man, the struggle is usually in trying to get his emotions to line up with what is logical, what he knows to be true. Within a woman, it’s usually trying to change logic to match up with how she feels, to bend reality to fall in line with how she feels. The latter is the feminist dream come true.

Very true. But I think it’s also city vs. country, Roe vs. Wade, big gov’t vs. small gov’t, New World Order vs. Freedom. And WAY too many people have just picked a side and support that side no matter how stupid you side gets.

For example, Cal Berkeley, the supposed shining example for freedom of speech, wouldn’t let Milo do a speech there. And not just wouldn’t let him, but tried to burn the place down. I don’t know how you can call yourself a liberal and be against freedom of speech.

Or “elections have consequences” meaning when I win you need to get the hell out of the way, but when I lose I’m the proud resistance.

And nobody cares for a second what Kavanaugh did in high school, it’s all about abortion. The left wants to continue to murder unborn babies and right wants to stop them from doing it.

What’s the old saying: If you aren’t on the political left when you are young then you have no heart; and if you aren’t on the political right when you’re older then you have no brain.

I don’t see it as dumb vs smart. It doesn’t take much intelligence to figure out that 1 + 1 = 2…even when it doesn’t feel right.

Very much true. People are sticking with their favorite party instead of choosing principles. And then they are the situations where we are pushed into being hypocritical and compromising principles, in order to push for what’s looked at as the greater good. The politicians create these scenarios to keep themselves in power.
