Women love to evaluate and pass judgement on a situation based on a limited set of facts. They never want to collect all the information, just what serves there purpose. It’s not even that they aren’t aware of all the facts, they just won’t apply facts unilaterally.

OP’s point is the perfect example. If you just take the basic fact of man and wife, then it seem perfectly acceptable to the man to have some role in maintaining the house. But then when you add the fact of his tremendous income, then it’s utterly ridiculous. The leave out that 2nd fact because it doesn’t get them what they want.

Also comparative advantage. If one person’s specialty is bringing in the money, it doesn’t make sense for them to spend time washing dishes.

If France makes shoes efficiently, and England makes hats efficiently, it makes more sense for each to stick to their specialties.
