I recently got virtualbox and i am trying to get operating systems for it so far i have got windows 98, windows xp, and windows me which i am trying to get working but so far no windows 95 without needing a disk.

I was a wee little lad when i used windows 98 and i want the 95 experience.

Hah. I was going to suggest that whatever you needed Win95 for you could probably run on Wine under a nice stable linux distro like Fedora/Ubuntu.

Then I read what you’re up to and realized you’re way ahead of that, and that it’s irrelevant for your purposes.

My best suggestion would be to find a valid MD5/sha1 checksum for a win95 disk and then go ahead and download the iso from wherever.

Other than that, you’ll probably have to hunt around. You might try thrift stores / garage sales. Once you have the disk, you should be able to get a license key that will work from somewhere.

    Ever tried ReactOS?

Check that the virtualbox hardware assisted virtualization is turned off in virtualbox.

Follow this guys thread on how he got it installed. Looks like you will have to create an .iso of the setup disk so when it boots the iso start up the win95 cd will be accessible.

I usually find hard-to-find files as a TORRENT file.

It’s not strictly legal, but Win95 is considered Abandonware these days.

    Try here:

The thing i remember the most about 95 was that it crashed…often!

That and being blown away by Quake 1.
