Chivalry is dead. I’ve decided to try to follow Bushido. Everyone needs a code.

I’m not trying to be some super samurai, rather just an average Ronin working on self improvement.

    Anyone else?

I follow more of a combination of a taoist and stoic philosophy myself.

Every woman is a slut, if you catch her on the right day.

Part of Bushido is believing one is already dead, it is just one has not stopped breathing. With the logic, for lack of a better word, if you are already dead, you should have no fear of death.

I find that to be a depressing point of view.

Yep… Living Bushido AND the Chivalric code at the same time.

    Both are not that distant.

"Young was I once, I walked alone, and bewildered seemed in the way; then I found me another and rich I thought me, for man is the joy of man." Odin, Hàvamàl, stanza 47.

True, it can be. It can also be quite liberating.

I’ve read some of Musashi’s 5 rings book, but I’ve never adopted any one else’s philosophy. I just use them to better forge my own.
