Anyone else feel like Christina Hoff Sommers is just doing damage control?

For those of you who don’t know, Christina Hoff Sommers is a second wave feminist that has been speaking against third wave feminism.

She has even spoken side by side with other men’s rights advocates.

However, I have been noticing that some of the things she says and does seem questionable at best. She chastises the third wave as “intersectional feminists” who vehemently demonize men and tries to separate the third wave as an “untrue” representation of feminism despite the leaders and vocal advocates of the second wave being the ones who coined the term of intersectionality and most vehemently espoused hateful rhetoric towards men. She even defends feminism still, even when working with these men (see 4:18 of The Triggering) by pandering in an attempt to frame feminism as “noble” or “courageous” and saying that the movement has been corrupted as opposed to have always been corrupt (thank God Milo didn’t put up with any of that). Honestly, does anyone else see this as just an attempt of damage control for feminism?

Not so much for feminism but for women.
She’s one of the growing number of women who see virtually all aspects of feminism now backfiring on women.
It’s the same with Helen Smith, author of “Men on Strike: Why Men Are Boycotting Marriage, Fatherhood, and the American Dream” There are distinct undertones of deep concern about what women are losing despite being overtly sympathetic to men.
Nancy Levant an ex-feminist seems to go much further in “The Cultural Devastation of American Women” She’s ringing the alarm bells loud and clear about what women have already lost and what they’re going to lose even more. At face value it seems an attack on Feminism and the modern woman but it’s really a scream for women to realise they never had it so good in traditional roles. It’s not designed to help men at all.
Always be doubly wary of women who claim to be on men’s side.

Milo is only using her, seemingly aligning with a known moderate feminist to prove he’s not against feminism, to reach a wider audience. We all know he hates the c~~~s.
It was probably a deciding PC factor in even getting on some campuses.

She’s only using him too. She’s done very well out of the publicity of the association and she’s reached a far wider audience than she’d normally get, as well as being introduced to an entire new generation online.

I thought about that as well, except even Milo has said things like “there are indeed some men out there who HATE women for no good reason at all.” I don’t remember the exact quote but it was just like that and sounded like pandering as well.

The thing that drives me crazy are when supposed “anti-feminists” feel like they HAVE to say “I don’t hate women, though! And I hate anyone that hates women and think they’re scumbags!” When women question them, they become nearly immediate white knights.

I’ve always thought my issue was with her was that she continues to call herself the “Factual FEMINIST.” She won’t drop the “feminist” label and continues to ride the fence instead to try to please both sides.

She reminds me of those “anti-feminists” that say “there are crazies on both sides and good people on both sides.” News flash to them: There are NO truly good people on the feminist side. They all want superiority and continued privilege and will REFUSE to listen to you otherwise if you disagree.

To be honest, I am not sure if the MRM is really going to make any headway. They criticize MGTOW for not being politically active but then they allow “ex”-feminists to subvert their movement and try to muddy the waters and say, “Oh, feminism used to be a good and noble movement; I don’t know why it became so crazy now but I assure you it was completely justified back then”. Is there really any hope at all? Are women even REALLY waking up? Or are they just trying to get a few more of their privileges back during a time where they aren’t warranted. I do realize that for the MRM to make much headway in exposure and media they had to get a vagina pass, but doesn’t that affect the movement?

I wanted to like Christina Sommers and girlwriteswhat aka Karen Straughan, but anymore, who cares. Too little too late I guess. They both still call themselves feminists and they even think there is still a need for it. Women have all the rights men have and more. It’s like trying to continue to fight a war after the peace treaty is signed. Looking for any battle, no matter how small to fight and win.

I don’t trust any of them, nor do I trust their intentions.

Feminism is a movement where opinions are presented as facts and emotions are presented as evidence.

Sadly no, including me. I thought she was OK.

I see the video in the college talks with Milo, Christina, Crowder and thought she is one of the rare Unicorn.

I would still believe her if she apologize that she make a mistake by being too hasty. But to double down like that remove all doubt of her character.

At least she show her true colors before she manage to do serious harm. And I learn that even women who repeatedly speak against feminism is not that trustworthy either.

I think that Mrs. Sommers is well-intentioned. She, unfortunately, is speaking to a society that will never listen.

Was early feminism good? Trick question. It doesn’t matter. Old school feminism is dead. It will never be back. There’s no reason for us to discuss it anymore.
