I just watched the Malaysian GP from a Sky F1 torrent. I don’t mind watching it not-live, and avoiding sites that show the results as I can’t stand the NBC coverage with their ads here in the states.
Brilliant drive from Verstappen even if Hamilton went easy on the defense… would Senna or Schumacher have given the place up so easily?
Nice recovery from Vettel! Ferrari has the clear performance advantage but the reliability issues are somewhat worrying. S~~~ luck for Raikkonen… it’s gotta be gutting to be prepared for a GP and then you’re see the whole field pull away as your car is in the garage.
I’d love for Vettel to just go full on domination mode and win the remaining Asian races like he did so consistently in early 2010s with Red Bull. Hamilton is an amazing driver don’t get me wrong but there’s something just right about Vettel winning his first WDC for Ferrari.
Forza Schumi.
Yes, I gave up on TV a few years ago but almost kept it for the racing. That is what I miss the most. I still have a video library of my favorites. Formula 1 is great. I used to watch.
There are two paved tracks fairly close to where I live and I occasionally go to see local races live. Not Formula 1 but stock car races ever weekend May through Sept. The track had it’s last race of season last night. I also agree with avoiding the commercials .. I’d do anything to eliminate them.Yes, I gave up on TV a few years ago but almost kept it for the racing. That is what I miss the most. I still have a video library of my favorites. A lot of F1/rally fans have this ignorant attitude towards oval racing but man is it intense and skilled racing even at the amateur level.
I’d love to have a go on a circuit in even a Miata or something. Closest track to me is a couple hours drive in Limerock Connecticut. I need to go back there sometime, only seen the American LeMans series once and a couple of car shows their years back.
If you ever want to watch some classic F1 there’s a nice 24/7 stream showing old races. http://www.ustream.tv/channel/v2gwX2xdLCp
Yep, i watch it every race. I also follow Motogp and a bit of world Superbikes. I cant stand Hamilton. Verstappen is very talented but a bit of an arrogant dick at this stage. I love Ricciardo as he’s a funny f~~~ and it helps that he’s from my hometown. 😀
Big F1 and Motogp fan. Cut cable a few years ago so I’m stuck using KODI which is low definition but love not having to watch commercials. Been hard to watch the last few years as I am a Honda fan. As a Canadian it’s nice to see Stroll getting better although that was a rookie move hitting Vettel on the cool down lap.

Eh I’d say it’s equal blame Vettel and Stroll. Quite a bizarre incident really.
Stroll should have been more aware of his mirror and had no reason to make a sudden steering input to the right. At the same time Vettel had no reason to pass Stroll so closely… This is coming from a big Vettel fan.
It’s been a weird season for him, still can’t believe his “love tap” on Hamilton in Baku. Personally I thought it was a great show of emotion but he easily could have gotten a race ban or worse.
Quite a shock how the mcHonda partnership panned out. Especially considering how competitive the Honda engines have been in Indy. I think it’s just a case of showing up to the party way too late. Every other PU manufacturer had more time to develop and also had all of 2014 to collect real data.
Honda just kind of showed up in 2015. Sure they had “testing” at the factory but in contemporary F1 it’s clear that nothing beats data from actual sessions and races.
Still you’d think there would be some element of real improvement in three seasons. Who knows maybe they can bring it around with Toro-Rosso.
I really need to get into MotoGP proper. what’s a past season you’d recommend watching?
The thing I love about MotoGP is there are a lot of great races in every season, with far more passing than F1 and usually 3, 4 or more riders in contention for the win. 2006 with Rossi vs Hayden (RIP) and 2013 with Marquez and Lorenzo are worth checking out.

2007 with Stoner on that overpowered Ducati that wouldnt turn corners without him sliding it and Rossi on the perfect handling Yamaha is great viewing. 2008 was good too.
I’d watch any Philip Island MotoGP race with Stoner in it to watch a guy sliding a gp bike round corners at over 300 kms an hour for sheer madness.:DI was just about to make a post asking the same question. Racing is about the only reason I even have cable TV. F1 is my favorite, but I also follow WEC, IMSA, WRC, NASCAR, Blancpain, and PWC. MotoGP is cool too, but it’s not even on TV here any more.
I also like to go to the stock car races live at the oval tracks here, we have some really good ones. I don’t go as often as I like, since I find myself going alone and that kind of sucks. My son’s not really into it, and the ex took all my so-called “friends” with her when we split. Never was any good at making friends.

Been a fan since the Senna-Prost rivalry. I believe that Ayrton Senna had the most talent of all time. That’s a bold statement, I know. But he could sure drive in the wet. If you’re into gaming, F1 2017 is a satisfying medium that mimics the experience pretty well. As far as Lewis Hamilton, I miss Nico Rossberg.
Never been much of a fan of Hamilton… he’s a great driver, no doubt, but I don’t like the head games and attitude. I was always a Raikkonen fan, and now quickly becoming a Max Verstappen acolyte. Brandon Hartley looks to be an exciting addition to the F1 paddock as well, though he’s going to be handicapped with an underperforming car.
This past weekend was a good one for racing fans, with the championships wrapping up for the NASCAR cup series, Xfinity series, and truck series. The WEC also wrapped up at Bahrain, though the LMP1 series was wrapped up a few weeks ago with Porsche clinching. Next week, we finish up the F1 season with the last race at Abu Dhabi. Hard to get excited with the drivers and constructors championship already decided, but I’m hoping Max pulls off another win.

Analysis: $12m Prize money at stake in fierce F1 constructors’ battle
Personally, I’m rooting for Haas to pull this one off because I want to see a successful American team in Formula 1. Ultimately, with an American driver…
