Hello I’m Jj; I am obsessed with Dark Horse’s Conan the Barbarian. Anything of Robert E. Howard is a must read for me; Red Sonja, Solomon Kain, Kull ect. My digital comic collection is very epic. What comics are you into?

Oh yeah! Comic books were once my hobby. It has been a while since the last time I read a comic though. And now with this stupid invasion from entitled females into the business, it is one more reason why not go back.

I have and am in the process of selling off all my comics because I have either created of download full collections. Women.. lol I dated a girl who prided herself on” being a girl* who plays video games” she uses this as a way to seem cool…. dude she only plays 2 games… she couldn’t in any way shape or form have a conversation about video games! I was highly embarrassed of her… lol  lame! They use it for social status for the most if not entirely part. It’s been years and I am still embarrassed by it; ridiculous.

I love comics. I read a lot of DC since I love their tone with the grounded, serious, and dark type stories they tell. Don’t really read Marvel much because I hate how they let their movies affect their books. It feels more like the books are movie merchandise then actual source material. Currently my favorite comic right now is Justice League. I read all of DC’s major heroes and my second favorite book is Suicide Squad even though I am behind and other favorites are Batman, Flash, and Action Comics. Green Arrow would be on the list, but that recent story arc while not bad was basically an episode of Arrow that could never be filmed lol. Can’t wait for Darksied War to start after the Convergence event as it is going to be crazy.

As for women taking over that is really only a problem at Marvel. Marvel is the company that likes to kiss social justice ass and pander to ass much people as possible. The worst DC has is that Batgirl is now Tumblr Girl lol.

Batgirl really IS Tumblr girl, haha! Especially with the outcry to pull that recent cover with the Joker putting a smile on her and her looking terrified. Apparently that had to equate to “rape” to feminists, thus causing DC to pull it. Stupid, really. I mean, the Joker can bludgeon Robin with a crowbar(?) and harm and torture everyone else for that matter that’s a MALE, but have him threaten Batgirl, who’s PUTTING HERSELF OUT THERE TO BE HARMED, and it’s suddenly “too controversial!”

I love all of them, especially with Image coming out with more original stuff from creators. Holy s~~~, have they reinvigorated the medium. I tend to lean more towards Marvel in the superhero stuff, but I’ve kind of been falling away from both of the Big 2 just because, as mentioned, they seem keen on pandering to feminist types. I mean, god forbid a female character (cough new Thor cough) actually have to EARN anything when you can just get that woman dollar by making her “better” than the original in 3 issues. Marvel, DC, Image, IDW…I’ll take a good story where ever I can find it.

@Megachris: Not to mention the Tumblr out roar at the cross-dressing villain in the new run.

King of the sea… if you ever get inspired to do some MGTOW related superhero art work (particularly satirical comedy) we would be happy to do a dedicated gallery for it / them.

I saw a HILARIOUS drawing once. Superman in bed (sleeping) obviously after sex… his cape and costume was draped over the chair and the girl (lois Lane?) who he just banged was sitting all disappointed by the side of the bed wondering if she could do better. (Hypergamy)

I haven’t seen a high resolution version of it, just a small one, but it was excellent.

Thought I would mention it since you’re a comic book illustrator.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

Hadn’t even thought of that! I’ll have to try to think of some ideas. If anyone has any ideas already, I’d be happy to try and whip something up.

Ha. Poor Superman. She’s probably already thinking about when she can pick up the phone and call Batman, dig into that giant wallet of his.

    @kingofthesea, go for it!

To all, Robert E. Howard rocks! His original writings are great stuff, and so are the pre-feminist authors who took on his universe.

I have over 24gb’s of pretty much every comic that was produced by various companies. For me it is a pleasure to read hyrogyph-comic formats of the same stories by different artist with different takes. Dark Horse’s take on Conan is by far the best. Even though Conan got wrapped of in a lot of female drama, he always in the end goes his own way and forges a new path from the ashes of these experiences…

I’ve never really been into Marvel. I’ve had woman say stuff like “I bet you’ve never been with a woman who like video games” ect. Of course when you have a conversation with them about this it is beyond limited, they use it as social status. ^ this girl only played 2 videos games in her entire life… not 3, not 4… just 2; and prided herself of being “A girl gamer”. I was and still am embarrassed having experienced that lol. Women sense of self is awkward at best; I used to pat them on the head and save them (by by slaying them with my “sword”?) Only to be cast as the Villain to her new “Hero”. That you MGTOW men for putting out content. With out this re education I’d be the meat-grinder. Now I point out their awkwardness and walk away : ) I’m no longer a “Hero”, I’m officially a human being~

That is what everyone who isn’t a feminist or mangina was saying. No one cares if Joker beats Jason Todd to death or kills a man, but he pulls a gun or Batgirl and all of a sudden it promotes rape. Then they tried to defend it by saying the cover didn’t match the current tone of the book, as if variants or covers in general always match what is inside.

Could anyone recommend any good comics? I used to read Star Wars all the time! Will probably look into starting again with Hellboy.

What kind of stuff interests you, man? There’s something for everyone in the world of comics.

@thebard: Did you see that Twitter exchange where the one feminist was bitching that Batman would never be depicted as helpless on the cover of his own comic and the one woman posted like 7 or 8 different covers where he was? One of the best comebacks I’ve ever seen.

Hate to double post, but I’m going on my comics rant now:

Anyone notice with the recent “gender-bending” in comics that women never want the unattractive/fat characters to have their genders changed? There’s no female Penguin or Dr. Sivana. Bulls~~~. They just want the ones like Thor or to get rid of Black Bolt and make it all about Medusa when she’s about as bland as paste.

And what’s with the all-woman X-Men and Avengers teams? If men wanted to be pandered like that, they’d be screamed out of existence for being sexist. If I’m going to read a story, it’s because it has strong characters in general, not because its feeding bulls~~~ down my throat. It’s funny how the Tumblr SJW crowd will go buy absolute s~~~ stories because it features a “person of color” or a woman or a LGBT whatever. A good story is a good story, who cares? If it’s bad story, I’m not buying it whether the character is a man or woman or black, white, Asian, Native American, anthropomorphic dog or whatever.

Last bit: The biggest feminist book right now seems to be the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl. I should have figured a book that made its protagonist fatter so her feminist harpy readership can feel secure in themselves and basically s~~~s all over the most powerful characters (because “girl power) would be taking off in that crowd. GOD.

I’m thinking about dropping the Big 2 in general and going only with creators and artists I know aren’t going to screw me over. For those of you interested, East of West and Southern Bastards by Image are both great. There’s a lot of creator-owed stuff out there right now that’s great and I’m pursuing that.
