Why dont they ever see or realize what their worth really is to society. Seems like Hollywood Studios are the ultimate MGTOW,talk about pump and dump her phone doesnt ring(sound familiar)! The ages over the hill are getting younger and younger,Holy Berry was at least in her 40’s before the floor collapsed.

Seems like that would be ground zero for them on assessing their market worth in society.
But the denial or rebellion is unbridled & insatiable at best.

They all want to believe their success is all due to their talent. The fact is they’re not really doing anything a thousand other people can’t do. Anne Hathaway is not a box office draw. I can’t think of any film she carried on her own. Over rated.

True. I’ve also read several rumors that she is quite pretentious and people just can’t stand to work with her. If that’s true I imagine that would actually play a big part in her not getting roles.

I would argue that due to the bulk of her roles being fluffy chick flick stuff that now that her looks are on the decline she can no longer play the parts she is accustomed to.

Would help if she grew her hair as well, I know men who look prettier than that!

Well that’s just it, isn’t it?

This actress has simply hit the point in her career where she has to start relying on talent and skill instead of mere appearance. Many actresses manage it: Helen Mirren, Meryl Streep, Sophie Loren, Judi Dench, Kathy Bates, and on and on.

    Most don’t.

Hathaway isn’t hitting the wall so much as she’s hitting the thresher, and now she gets to find out if she’s the wheat or merely the chaff.

I wonder what she was thinking when she was the one winning parts from older actresses? No, not really, I know damn well that she did not step aside for a competitor, and I am guessing she was secretly gloating that she got a part ahead of Ms. Older Chick.

The worm turns. It’s her turn now. She is in the same position as all women. There is always somebody younger and prettier coming up behind them, and all too eager to knock them off their pedestal.

I don’t wish her ill. I hope she can go the Meryl Streep, etc, route. But, that will take talent and the political skills necessary to win over casting directors. Good luck with that, Anne.

I think she is gonna need that luck in spades.

    Saw her in Interstellar…

She was not anything to write home about with her performance.

Exactly. All these young, attractive women are more than happy to take advantage of the system to get ahead when they’re the one getting the benefits, but they hate the system as soon as it benefits someone else. At least Hathaway admits it; stupid reporter can’t apparently deal with it. I also think it’s funny that she acts like it’s so outrageous that at 32, Hathaway’s phone isn’t constantly ringing. Some people just age better than others…Hathaway doesn’t. Why they have to make it seem like there’s a f~~~ing conspiracy going on against women is hilarious and pathetic.

She isn’t even that much talented. Her characters were incredible forgettable in both Batman Rises and Interstellar, with the latter being kind of a joke, since she used the, “muh feelings”, against a logical argument.

That puzzled the hell out of me: She, a scientist and one who supposedly was quite good at what she did (although it was a bit suspect that her dad was in charge of the whole thing…), used an emotional argument. Of course, the writers had to make her right, but it was still stupid.

I think it hurt the flow of the movie more than helped it. I know it broke immersion for me when that scene played out. All I could think about was all the other movies my daughter and I have seen her in playing as a princess.

Yeah, I felt the same way about the Social Network: Great film, but it would have ended better (and more realistically) if he had checked his inbox and there was an add from the girl at the beginning of the film instead of him adding her. Alas, Hollywood has to keep perpetuating the idea that if you’re a rich single man, you can’t be happy.

Yeah, it’s a damn shame really.

From what I’ve read she seems to be a completely entitled c~~~ and hard to work with.

    She’s not even eye candy.

One of my issues with Nolan’s Batman films were the lack of eye candy, and sexiness that most female leads exude.

All of the chicks were pretty much ugly.

Most female actresses are overrated besides Portman. She’s the only one out of the young crop who I genuinely like.

There is a talent to acting. Not everyone can do it. A problem here is that there are SO many who have the talent, that it ends up in this state. A problem with fame is it ends up producing one-sided knowing, that leads those in the arts to end up being seduced into thinking they can make it, because they see and know others. There are some women, who got where they are by looks alone, but a lot it requires a degree of skill, and a ton of luck, with your connections being able to do things.

And you see that Hollywood ends up with this casting young also. Look at what they day with The Fan4stic movie, and who they can’t. They went young with the entire cast, even where such shouldn’t of been.

I once saw a Kenny Loggins concert and he is famous for writing many songs including children’s songs. He related during the concert that Disney had hired him to do a children’s album. When it was finished being recorded they told him that they weren’t going to use any albums that didn’t have female child starts from Disney TV shows for their musicians.

Miley Cirus, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez.

It’s a business. Men and women want to see virile men aged 21 to 50 with big muscles and women aged 18 to 28 with nice t~~~ and slim waist.

Sorry Anne, you no longer make the cut. It’s much easier to make a young woman look older and nearly impossible to make an old actress look younger.

There are exceptions, but, as you guys so cogently pointed out, they have talent.
