Do shields in mount and blade block arrows from the back(when leave them on my back like you have in your picture)?
And does shield skill apply in that scenario?(will they block more if they do at all?)

Yes, of course and its not a dumb question. Shields will block arrows wherever they are present, be it on the back or front; equipped or unequipped. Sometimes arrows would also stick to the inside of the shield if someone from behind shoots at you but misses and hits your shield instead.

Shield skill reduces the chance of arrows bypassing the shields and hitting you, for eg. if you hold your shield low, you might get an arrow on your head or on your feet if you hold it too high. Shield skill essentially enlarges the ‘block box’ so when you’re maxed up on shield skill, there are rarely any arrows hitting whichever way you’re holding your shield. Shield skill also increases the life of your shield.

Yeah. That will work.
I normally pick up a shield rather than equip one before battle; ’cause I pack a lance, a 2h and a 1h (melee fighter here). I use the lance on horseback for th reach; 2h for hack-and-slash and the 1-hander with shield if I ever lose my horse.

In the archery setting however, its impossible to have 2 shields because there woud be no room for a melee weapon and I guess you already know how it turns out if you do not have one.

Living with a woman she can do just about anything she wants and there is next to nothing you can do about. As a man nobody gives a damn about you.

Also living with women you will live with PMS.

People think its a big funny joke and women deny it but I have lived through and am glad and thankful to never experience that again.
