Yea, my mistake of a divorce cost me over 40k for a 1.5 year marriage. Never again. However, this is about child support. It’s insane. I think a child would do better with a mom and dad, but not if I had to live in poverty. I’d probably move to a non-extradition State. Currently, there are the following:

Learned about real divorces in NY after I went through mine. I was just lucky in that we didn’t have kids and it was a short marriage. NY is prob. the worst State to live in due to the insane child support until 21 + medical + life insurance + college. Basically, it means that I cannot have a family unless I go through surrogacy.
