When I was a kid, I ran away from everything and went to the yachtclub with 100 bucks. Didn’t come back for a LONG time.

The reality is, you can get a 30 foot sloop for not mutch, like cheap if you work on it for a couple of months. Learning to sail is like lerning to ride a motorbike. My plans are very mature for this sort of adventure.

If your middle aged (50-60) you can buy a nice boat and be gone. I met a lot of dudes on the lamb that had tons more problems than most of the guys here, working their way around the world. Any of you evern thinking that all is hopeless, a world of adventure is waiting for you if you want it.

Actually, if I had no kids, I would do it….in 1.5 hours.

man, it’s having a kid that really anchors you down.

if i never met my kid it would have been easier.
now, it’s too late.
i advocate for this child daily..
have to be there when the mom decides to go out and instead of letting a babysitter be there for my kid, i am.

otherwise i would be gone…

Give me 90 feet and some food, and I’m outta here. I’ll be parking it in foreign ports all the time just to do it.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, A houseboat that I can push out to sea on whenever I feel the need. Yeah, I’d go back out to sea like that. Get a good one with three or four decks so the crew has some room to themselves, and we’d just sail for the fun of it.
