All observation is premised in movement. The observer takes a passive state in one respect and absorbs the movement through the various senses. Or the observer can take an active stance and manifest certain movements. Either way, the observer actively and passively observes movements simultaneously.

Now the observer is strictly defined as the reciprocator of movement, both active and passive. What we define as one observer having a higher or lower degree of consciousness than another is dependent upon the various dimensions it is aware. Certain being have different degree it observes reality than others. A tree may only have an reactive awareness by responding to stimuli such as water through growing, while an animal make differentiate dirty water from clean, etc. The same applies to active awareness.

So observing these definitions all phenomenon have a degree of consciousness in one respect with the human observer taking various roles. This is considering observation is active and passive in nature. Hence all being has some degree of self evidence.

Now viewing the question relative to a person seeing or not seeing the tree directly what we observe as all phenomenon is movement and this movement is giving clarity through definition. Now the tree may not be clearly defined at all if all I see I a series of movements repeated movements from from it. The tree falls, then a bird moves, then the bird lands on the porch. I do not see the movements of the tree directly…only approximately through cause and effect. However the cause cannot exist without an effect.

The tree cannot fall without causing a series of further movements considering the act of falling is strictly an observation of one phenomena connected to another. So we see the tree fall, but only approximately and the actual “movement” is not clearly defined.

But this lack of definition, where we see the tree fall is still approximate even if it where more direct. If my vision is poor and I see a tree fall I still see is approximately. The same occurs for hearing. This also applies if my sight/hearing is lucid considering I still see/hear it approximately as it is from a relative angle of awareness.

So the question can be inverted: If I see/hear a tree fall in the would do I really see/hear it?

Now as to the sound, this replicative effect follows the same degree.

On a secondary respect considering the question is contradictory as the question is imaginary. It requires the situation, whether real or not, to be imagined and as imagined the tree is imagined to either make a sound or not make a sound. Hence the answer is both and if view as “real as imagined”.

I was here long before “multiple personality disorder” learned how to read. As a matter of fact I help give him the attention he cried out for. In doing so he learned how to cut his ramblings from strict cussing to a few nouns and verbs interlace with profanity. He has made alot of improvements.
