Don’t co habitateIf you live with a woman they will just change the laws to make you pay alimony, check out what they do in Canada.
This is just more “let’s put it on the backs of men. They won’t complain they will just do it!”

Alimony in any form is abuse.
Know when it is your duty to give them zero explanations for your actions.
I am able to respect some women: those who made their own way with their OWN money and their OWN talent, and those who are obedient to their husbands.
Under no circumstances can I ever respect a woman who took or is taking alimony. It’s simply theft, pure and simple.
Women are better at multitasking? Fucking up several things at once is not multitasking.

Anonymous13Absolutely it’s theft.
If someone wants out of a marriage and the comforts it provided then why the f~~~ should the other have to maintain the leaver/cheater/dumper in the lifestyle of the marriage.

I’m a little late to this thread. If you have a signed divorce decree by December 31, 2017 then the alimony is still deductible to the payer and income to the receiver. After that date, it is no longer deductible to the payer and not income to the receiver. That means that cupcake will get less money because Justin Case will have to pay her in after tax dollars.
Also, the payer is typically in a higher tax bracket than the receiver. So there will be less money left over to pay to the poor struggling single mother. The one advantage of the old system was that I could take the deduction at 28% and pass it on to mommy at say 15%.
Let’s say I pay $1,000 in alimony under the old system. I save $280 in taxes and cupcake pays $150. There is an extra $130 there from the difference in the tax rate. She has $850 after tax. Under the new system, I would pay tax on $1,000 and have $720 left to pass on to cupcake. SHE is $130 worse off since she is the recipient.
This new law should be bad for mommy. Either that or more men end up in jail because they can’t afford their alimony.
