I used to say the same thing.

This is a bullet I luckily dodged. Child support wasn’t so bad, but even with an understanding ex I was at the mercy of California’s welfare system for a while. Just the thought of it, and watching my brother loose his house after his divorce, makes me sick to my stomach. Our young people have to realize what’s at stake when they team up with a bitch and have kids. I anticipate my middle niece is going to divorce her husband in a few more years, and the youngest one is currently trying to have a baby with her husband. He’s older and makes a very good living. I can just imagine how these girls are going to cash in when it’s their turn to bail, and the guys will be f~~~ed. Thank God they’re in other states…I won’t have to see it up close and personal.

For the lurkers unconvinced; I went through a divorce and lost a car, a house a supplement 401K with a balance of 60K, a savings account with over 19K and I had no children. I didn’t suffer even a fraction of what others here suffered and I am thankful for it! That’s how bad it is. The only thing a managed to keep was my pension which is why I lost everything else. My situation is one of the better ones to hope for and it isn’t pretty.

As i’ve matured i’ve decided that money is what makes the world go round, the game of you have it and everyone else wants to take it away from you. If you manage to die with any of it left, you ‘win’. 🙂
