There’s a lot of content on MGTOW… and even though I spent a good amount of hours paging through the topgun and other sections I am really looking for a search feature that would allow me to refine my results a bit more and use that search query as a reference in posts.

Being able to pick a section to search in, search on titles or content, set the amount of results to be displayed in a summarized or possibly title only fashion maybe even storing queries and whatnot. A lot of things have been said already and I’d much prefer to be able to reference other people’s post(s) and add my own comments rather than to have to rewrite the whole thing including my comments.

Do we have an advanced search or a way we can easily link to search results or perhaps a workaround of sorts? Maybe it’s already there and I am just too blind to find it.

I too would like an advanced search feature. However, I suspect Keymaster and his team are busy enough without me adding any extras.

Edit: I also would like it if a search feature, even the one we’ve already got, were available to those who were not logged in.

Society asks MGTOWs: Why are you not making more tax-slaves?

While waiting for Keymaster to implement an advanced search feature, you could leverage the search feature of Google. Google allows you to limit the scope of your searches to a particular web site, as well as allows you to require certain words or phrases to be included. To restrict your search to a specific web site, add “site:[your web site]” in the search query. To require a word in your search, use a “+” before the word. To exclude a word from your search, use a “-” before the word. To include a specific phrase, enclose the phrase in quotes For example, to search the mgtow.com forums for “hypergamy” you would enter something like this into the google search textbox: +hypergamy site:mgtow.com/forums

Yeah I considered it and it does make a lot of sense. I’ll give it a whirl in the future until something better gets built into the site. Thanks for the tip.

    TERRIFIC REQUEST! Thanks very much.

We can go CRAZY with a search feature but there is a difference between “searching the site” (Very top right)….. and “searching the forums” (in the forums sidebar)

We don’t want the results to mix for several good reasons. But it’s easier for us to get complex with the site search than the forums search. The more “advanced” the search is, the longer it takes.

If you’re looking for a phrase, you can just as easily search MGTOW + the phrase on Google.

But I would appreciate it if you woudln’t mind telling me what kind of a search you WANT that you’re not getting. Please give a few examples of what you would like to be able to search for that you can’t right now. Even if it’s just made up words.

Thank you. We will try to implement whatever you ask for if our members want it.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.
