I am pretty sure that one or two children of mine have been aborted and if there was any legal way of punishing the criminals I would seek it. It burns me inside to think of it.
Here is a story about a girl I never knew well who had an abortion. She was the sister of a good friend’s slut wife. (My friend supported the wife for years as she tried to be a writer and then the wife ran off with the neighbour, taking the car he had bought her, leaving my friend in negative equity on their shared flat). Anyhow the interesting thing about this tale is that the slut was on holiday before her abortion to see her sister. I was on holiday to see my old mate, so we were staying together in the same house. The girl was a medical student and she was happily telling everyone how great abortion was and how wonderful and heroic the doctors who did it were for standing up to the nasty bigots who did not support a woman’s right to choose.
Anyhow, my old friend had parents who loved to entertain. They had us all round one evening. My friend was from a quite political family. They had been big in the liberal party. His parents were personal friends of David steel, the liberal (later to be party leader) who brought the private members bill that allowed abortion in the UK. They were horrified as to what this girl was planning to do. The mother had lost a baby to a late miscarriage and hated the idea of killing a baby. They were also however liberals. They had to respect the slut’s right to kill her child. So they did not say one word against her but they were always saying things like “Are you sure you would like another drink /another cigarette, you know you are pregnant”. The girl was happily standing up for her rights and the older couple were trying to gently talk around the subject of the morality of abortion constantly coming back to “well it is a woman’s right and I will never stand in the way of that”.
Finally when the girl had just ignored everything they said “You know we have sat around dinner tables with David Steele talking about his private members bill and he never saw it coming to this. He brought that bill to stop women dying of backstreet abortions or suicide. He never imagined it would be more than a few hundred cases a year, women who were psychologically damaged and who should not be forced to be mothers.”
The 1967 act provided a defence for doctors performing an abortion on any of the following grounds:
To save the woman’s life
To prevent grave permanent injury to the woman’s physical or mental health
Under 24 weeks to avoid injury to the physical or mental health of the woman
Under 24 weeks to avoid injury to the physical or mental health of the existing child(ren)
If the child was likely to be severely physically or mentally handicapped
Two doctors are required to make this judgement in good faith. None of that was with a view to hundreds of thousands of sluts annually clearing out unwanted garbage on demand. The trouble with the way the law is made is that it can be made for special cases that then become widened to include anyone.
I will never forget that old couple contemplating the ruin that their misguided liberalism had wrought, the cruelty they had unleashed by attempting to stop cruelty. They were trying to reconcile their liberal principles with the mass murder they had unleashed.
A woman is like fire -fun to play with, can warm you through and cook your food, needs constant feeding, can burn you and consume all you own
