Abortion is not about women, it’s never have been. It’s clearly about maximizing profits in the United States of America Corporation.
HEK stands for human embryonic kidney cells. These cells, originally came from a healthy, electively aborted human fetus. Its an artificial flavoring ingredient found predominantly in processed foods. Look up HEK 293 or senomyx flavorings. ???Boycott!!
Ps. There should be a list under the video @ YouTube with a detailed list of products that contain HEK 293.https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Senomyx

In this case, No. The HEK 293 cells are not used as ingredients. They ARE used to TEST new chemical formulas.
Cells from aborted babies aren’t used as ingredients in food and drinks.
The claim first emerged in 2011 when Senomyx, a company that develops flavor ingredients, announceda partnership with PepsiCo. Their goal was to develop “high-potency sweeteners” to reduce the amount of sugar in soft drinks.
At the time, the anti-abortion group Children of God For Life issued a press release that said Senomyx had used human embryonic kidney cells (also called HEK 293) to test its products. The group called for a boycott of companies that had partnered with Senomyx.
The original claim that Senomyx had used HEK 293 to test its products appears to be true. But that original claim has morphed over the years. Today, viral emails and blogs claim that cells from aborted babies are used as ingredient, which is false.
The HEK 293 cell line dates back to the 1970s. Today, it’s commonly used to test new drugs and vaccines, Forbes reports:
“The cells, called HEK 293 cells (that stands for human embryonic kidney) were taken from an aborted fetus in the 1970s in the Netherlands. Bits of chopped up DNA from the adenovirus, a virus that causes a pretty severe cold. The kidney cells were forced to take up bits of DNA using a technique invented in 1973 that used a calcium solution. The resulting cells don’t act much like human cells at all, but they are very easy to work with and have become workhorses of cellular biology. That’s why they’re used in the development of drugs and vaccines. No new fetal tissue has been used to keep the cell culture going; the use of this cell line isn’t leading to new abortions.”
It seems that Senomyx has engineered HEK cells to function as human taste-receptor cells, ABC News reports:
“This way, Senomyx can test millions of substances to see if they work as different types of taste enhancers without subjecting human volunteers to endless taste tests.”
In 2008, Senomyx was awarded a patent on “recombinant methods for expressing a function sweet taste receptor” that lists HEK 293 as part of the process.
CBS News found in 2011 that many of the company’s 77 patents listed HEK 293.
The Miami New Times asked Gwen Rosenberg, the vice president of investor relations and corporate communications at Senomyx, about it in a 2011 interview:
“Asked about the action alert, Rosenberg said, ‘We don’t discuss details of our research, but you won’t find anything on our website about HEK 293.’ I asked Rosenberg if Senomyx had a position on stem cell research. ‘We’ve never been asked that,’ she replied, ‘We don’t have a position on anything. We’re dedicated to finding new flavors to reduce sugars and reduce salt. Our focus is to help consumers with diabetes or high blood pressure have a better quality of life.’”
So, while it appears that HEK 293 cells are used to develop and test new ingredients, the claim that the cells themselves are used for ingredients is false.

The cells are used to amplify the taste receptors in the mouth. How else can the hek cells achieve this other than ingestion?. I live a naturalist lifestyle. I stay away from all man made food products. If it doesn’t go bad in a week I will not cannot eat it; therefore I’m not worried about this personally.IMO this is some GMO S~~~ on a whole other level. I also will not believe anything coming out of any mainstream news media outlet, especially on controversial topics such as stem cell and fetus research. They’re just too secretive with their operations. I believe they have the means necessary to cover this up. I respect your response however. I just feel as if they’re lying and I just don’t trust the government and their Fed goons anymore. Again this is in no way meant to disregard your research.

Senomyx has isolated receptors found on cells that detect taste, and added them to the HEK cells. This allows them to test thousands of potential taste additives to see whether they might taste sweet or savory with a speed that would be impossible with human taste testers. Synomyx has announced collaborations with Pepsi, Nestle, and Coca-Cola.
I read about this in 2011, then I did my homework. The original tissue in question did come from an aborted fetus in Norway in 1970. They altered the cells and over 3 years eventually came up with HEK293. They never needed to take any more tissue because it is far easier to keep the existing cells reproducing. The HEK293 cells have been used since 1973 in a wide array of biomedical processes.
They added the cellular receptors for taste to the HEK cells and can observe the cellular reaction to types of chemicals.
I personally think this is a little better than using thousands of humans a day, feeding them a chemical and asking if it is sweet, salty, savory or seeing if they die from the chemical tested on them.
No fetal tissue is in the foods.
This whole thing stems from a hit piece done by Children of God for Life.

Anonymous17Don’t buy products from multinational food companies. Try to eat unprocessed foods. Meat you can recognize, rice, beans, pastas (a bit processed), oats, potatoes, vegetables. A juicer machine is nice. Put melon, cucumber, carrots, beet root, celery, apples, peeled oranges. Makes a delicious drink.

Been doing that for years. Grow 80% of my own food already. Byproduct of growing a garden as one of my hobbies. My only point is to always research the f~~~ out of anything before passing on information. If you don’t you are just spreading someone elses narrative and 9 out of 10 times narratives come with agendas.
