There are plenty of men on their own journey of GTOW. Sometimes you don’t know where the f~~~ you’re going and you may not know how you’re going to get there (wherever that may be). Bettering yourself and your circumstances is part of the journey.

Calvin Coolidge said, “Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”

    Press On, men.

True. But then again, doing the same thing repeatedly expecting different results is the definition of insanity. It matters what you are persisting at.

    Ok. Then do it.

The analogy that I like to use is that life is a bit like an American Football game. Continually work for forward progress and eventually you get to the endzone. You don’t always move the chains, but if you’re smart and tenacious, you will. You don’t keep running up the middle if you don’t make any progress… you throw a pass. The persistence comes in on reaching your goal (like scoring points).

And sometimes, the wisest move is to punt the ball?

    Ok. Then do it.

Yep. To be clear, I’m not talking about relationships with wymyn here.

As a young boy my first job was working in a grocery store produce department.

Stacking thousands of apples. The old timer let me fail until it was no longer entertainment.

Then he taught me. Everything is how you start out. If your base is s~~~ then your goal will be s~~~.

Be persistent in your base foundation. Get it right!

Years later, our company did a advertisement for national television. My produce department was selected and I stacked those damn apples so high that I broke the glass ceiling.

    Take that, bitches!

    Peace brothers

Im not a big Football fan, But I saw a spot on Nick Saban.
His approach is, dont even look at the scoreboard.
Just give 100% effort every play.
Its just a habit you develope.

We said a similar thing on Old Sages IQ and Arrogance thread. IQ is nothing without motivation.

All the intellect in the world will be wasted.

But if a man is motivated he don’t need much intellect. He will just persist and learn his craft.

Yes we are two examples of never giving up.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.

Calvin Coolidge needs to try putting a polish on a turd.

No amount of persistence or determination will compensate for a flawed approach. For example feminists are persistent and determined, but still wrong and doomed to failure.

    Yes it is

    A Worthy Quote

    .

The only people who learned in my classrooms were the ones that wanted it. The dumbest five year old you can find can use the DVD remote like pro because he wants it. Being dumb made it take longer, but that’s all it ever did.

The analogy that I like to use is that life is a bit like an American Football game.

Yup, it is rigged. Especially like the college and university games, where the system has no draft to equalize talent among all conference teams. People who support Alabama, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Univ. of Southern California and are proud of their National Championships with all the odds in their favor are like a casino boasting of its winnings.

No amount of perseverance or determination will turn a five foot tall, 140 pound adult male into a professional quarterback. Why waste your time and life pursuing a career where you are competing against those who because of genetic or personal experiences or training are going to be much better than you with less effort? For example, did you know that Jacob Burak, and Israeli researcher found that people with blood type B phenotype and a certain background were four times more likely to become a millionaire, despite their being a minority of most populations? This finding is not politically correct, because genetics are involved.

    Your right!
    I dont care who knows!!!

People.ask me why Ive never killed myself. For all Ive been through.

    All I can say is..

The guy just keeps getting back up!

No matter how many times life knocks him on his ass, the f~~~er just keeps getting back up!!

I want to see what he does next!!!

An odd 3 rd person perspective, but it is one of my truths.

Life is about getting the f~~~ back up!

Bob your quote has total relevance and is applicable to many of life’s battles.
Naturally there are times when it can’t be applied. As in the examples provided above.

But when the conditions are less than impossible no man will succeed unless he has some degreee of motivation and grit.

We risk throwing the baby out with the bath water if we say this quote is wrong. It clearly is not wrong.

I would argue that this quote can lift a lurker.

And all credit to you for trying my friend.

You are right Old Sage. It’s about that.
I have been knocked down countless times but won’t be defeated.
Life defeated my dad and he killed himself in 2015.
It f~~~ing ain’t having me. No sir.

I have a strong sense of loyalty to my children. After the s~~~ I tolerated when I was a kid I will be making sure mine don’t suffer the same way I did. Now if I’m to do that I need to stay fit and healthy and switched on.
