    HELLO!

Thanks for taking the time to read this, its probably rather s~~~ty, but we’re adults and we can deal with it! I’ll start off by saying this; I’ve never really participated in a forum with accounts, only imageboards (you know the ones I’m talking about… hail hotwheels) so the format is pretty new to me.

So… Introductions… I’m a 20 year old man, living in a city that, 15 years before my birth was a thriving port town with old manufacturing centers and other heavy industry, the men here where guaranteed a stable, life long job and a chance to prosper. Until maggie thatcher came to power and gutted the north and my home of all industry. 15 years later I was born into poverty, disparity and the never ending line for the dole, but who am I, a straight, white male to complain?! when it is me, who hasn’t bought a pair of shoes in 6 years, has all the power in society!

These days a 20 year old like myself, usually finds solace in hard drugs and getting so t~~~ted you forget about the crushing existential burden placed on us by a society that doesn’t want us. So, instead of fulfilling the prophesy like a good little robot I broke out some time in 2012 after a brief spat in college, where I was forced into taking 6 A levels because I done disproportionately well in high-school compared to my peers (A boy doing well?! Get him on drugs now! oh they tried many times) I dropped out and took up carpentry and joinery, where I found peace of mind through manual labor, and hard work. Since then I’ve become somewhat of a ‘survivalist’ of the modern, concrete jungle, I forage wild plants, eat stuff off peoples trees and generally don’t give two s~~~s.

I’m looking forward to participating within this community,

    – Mick.

You said it best. As a straight, White, male who are we to complain right? For we are the privileged! We have White priviledge, heterosexual priviledge, and of course male priviledge. And yet you haven’t been able to buy a new pair of shoes in 6 years. How’s that for f~~~ing priviledge?

Do your carpentry, it’s a very noble profession. I would say don’t do drugs and alcohol only because it really doesn’t help. Sure, it helps for about 4 hours, then it’s back to s~~~ again. I have honestly been much happier now that I completely gave up alcohol. My physique has improved tremendously as have my numbers on the medical laboratory tests. Plus I wake up refreshed each day with a clear mind.

Manual labor doesn’t sharpen the mind, but it grounds the spirit. Unfortunate that it is looked down upon in this age, considered an injustice by some that they have to sully their hands with tools of labor, growth of appreciation for the simple.

Yeah man, totally. If I look around right now my desk, bedside table and bed have all been handmade by me, its a weird sense of pride to sleep on something you made yourself. Thanks for taking the time to post.

Outlander I wish to make correction on your comment, robotic manual labor doesn’t sharpen your mind, but regular labor can. Carpentry includes math and geometry, any job can present you with problems you have to solve, so you can sharpen your mind.
