So I don’t know if anyone here ever was into the 1950s-1960s sci-fi, stuff like

“I have no mouth and I must scream.” And

    “I, robot.”

    “Fahrenheit 451”

“2001: a space odyssey.” and stuff like that.

Weirder, more original stories, that center around dystopia and more mental anguish/moral dilemmas.

In my spare time I sometimes write short stories or at least outline the idea, and I had a funny idea for one the other day.

I haven’t fully fleshed It out though,

but it involved the world coming under rule of a female dictatorship in the year 2199, women outnumber men 100/1 and there are many restrictions on men and what they can do in society, after awhile women decide that men are unnecessary and exile them from Earth due to declining resources. Men from all across the globe are sent into space in various Star cruisers.

The story would then elaborate how instead of dying in the black void (like all these women hoped) these men work together and start a colonization process on Mars.

The story would also borrow several real-world happenings, such as the next generation of men being born from artificial wombs, female androids that are programmed to be helpful, and terraforming planets (not real, but maybe someday.)

Eventually the story would end with a ship returning to earth many years later and finding nothing but ashes and skeletons, a lone explorer would depart from the ship and find several records of the world before its collapse.

After women banished men, rampant consumerism and riots broke out over the few sources of food and water left, instead of working together the women decided to go to war which only ended in M.A.D, leaving the earth a charred flake drifting in space.

With that, the lone explorer would depart in his ship, leaving for the Stars to see what else is out there.

It’s just a stupid idea and I haven’t had time to write it, so in case I don’t get the chance too, I figured I’d at least share the idea.

    I read too much sci-fi.

Having a girlfriend is like owning a gun, the longer your around it, the more you want to shoot it.

Sounds a lot like BattleStar Galatica, but with dudes only on ship and mating with female Cylons

    I would read it.

But when the men come back they should find ashes and un-opened jars and cans of food.

In the classic SciFy universe there is a series called “Lensmen of Arisia” from E.E. “Doc” Smith.
In one of the books they talk about a planet of women…

the planet of Lyrane, ruled by a matriarchy of women who have advanced mental abilities, but apparently have little, or no, art, literature, music, or other cultural assets. The Lyranian who meets Kinnison when he lands immediately tries to mentally kill him, as does every other Lyranian. Kinnison handles their mental attacks easily.
    […]
After Kinnison’s ship leaves, Lyrane comes under attack by two Boskonian ships and the matriarchs, who are helpless against thought screened pirates with advanced weapons, have to call Kinnison and the Patrol to come back and help them.

On the way back to Tellus (Earth) with the zwilnik, Kinnison decides that, in some way, Lyrane is connected with Boskone. He knows that no male, except a Lensman, could survive a minute in that man-hating culture…

The funny part is that in another book he concludes that these women, although in every way human, due to their mindset where no more human that the Eich!

For those that didn’t read the books, the Eich where creatures who’s only interest was power, destruction, and the pleasure of torturing others.

Here is a representation of those Eich:

    Eich

And no, it is not the grotesque ape-like of the bottom, its the weird black creature on the top…
