I know when someone gets sober, they’d suggest that he not date for at least a year, maybe two.

Dating, sex, drugs, it could be anything really, distract us from pain/trauma which is caused by a lack of understanding, denial.

If your life is working, if you are fairly happy with how things are going, don’t listen to any of this.

Me personally, I wasn’t happy with dating. I’d hook up, but just wasn’t getting the results I wanted in dating or in life. I decided to quit dating in march of 2016. I then slipped for 3 months in late 2016 and early 2017. I then quit again.

Just now am I entertaining the idea of possibly going out on some dates, and I have no intention of getting or even wanting a legitimate relationship. Just mostly to socialize with women or whatever.

The thing, quitting dating had a tremendous impact on my life, in the positive. I really could never figure out how to enjoy myself until I let that go. What I mean by that, I gave too much meaning to women/dating/hooking up/etc.

Only when I completely gave it up, mostly because it just wasn’t fulfilling me anymore, that’s when I finally started to kind of liven up, discovered mgtow as a result of that as well.

I was basically using dating as a distraction from denials, past pains dealing with family upbringing and all sorts of stuff.

Getting away from distractions, drugs/alcohol/women/whatever, that’s the only way the pain can come up and acknowledging that pain is how one heals.

Truth has no place to live in the mind of a woman.
