For those Brothers who remember the television series from the 70’s “Kung Fu” with David Carradine – this may hit home. I have tried this mental imaging and it helps. In one of the episodes, an older Grasshopper was teaching a young student some philosophy. He spoke of the Sun, the Clouds and The Mountains. He tells the boy of the strength of the Sun – but that this strength can be tempered by the Clouds. He then tells the boy that the Clouds strength can be tempered by the Mountain. In each case he asks the young boy which he would want to be? The boy replies finally that he will be the Mountain – resistant to all. During a recent berating from my wife – at a terrible time in my life due to my dad’s failing health (he recently passed) – rather than respond with more aggression to this hostility – I shut my eyes and pictured her as the Clouds…but I became, in my mind, the strong Mountain – immovable. Before I knew it – she had run out of anger – and left the room. I slept on the floor that night in peace. Best sleep in ages.
A very unusual an pleasant post. Also, very timely for me as I’m in a period when I need to find that inner peace and temperance.
I do remember the series, of course I saw the re-runs as I wasn’t born when it first aired. The answer is NO. “I could but I won’t”. Memini murum!
Kung Fu series ran when I was a teen and the most important lesson I got from it was simple.
A man has a center, with the Universe.
Complete control is a strength, and energy is dispensed only when necessary to accomplish a task.A Mountain does not bow down to the Clouds.
A Man does not bow down to a Rib- a lowly woman.A Kung Fu Master bows down to NO BULLY as amply portrayed in the series.
Feminism is a Blatant Bully, disguised as a repugnant woman. How about “One cannot make a diamond out of river mud; be happy with a brick.” ?

Anonymous42I find it amazing! All the mental reprogramming men do on themselves just to TOLERATE the presence of a woman!
Are they really that bad???
Answer: No, their worse!!!
Congratulations to all modern empowered females! You have men walking away away in ever increasing numbers, and like myself, NEVER TO RETURN!
And LOVE? You turned that into a f~~~ing joke!!! A joke that has me eternally laughing at your sorry asses! But in the end I think the most important lesson to be learned from the wise Kung Fu master is this: Sun, clouds, and mountain are all very strong, but none of them can help you if you autoerotically asphixyate in the closet of a cheap hotel room.

I was thinking the same.
Are they really that bad???
Answer: No, their worse!!!I can’t tell from a relationship perspective, but I will take your word, the behaviors of my married friends, and the testimonies of the married men on this VERY SITE, among other things, for it

I would go one step further. I would say they have men walking away before even TRYING anything (pretty much my case), let alone return.

I think love is a MALE construct, that we projected into women. And women, like everything else, didn’t understand it and abused us with it.
The consequences of it though, that will be funny to watch. Time to “strong and independent” women be… well… strong and independent. 😀Cheers.

Thanks for that positive thought. I hope to remember this saying for time when I find myself in conflicting waters.
