I looked at one of those and the cost was exorbitant and I don’t like the idea of iron being atomized into the air, precautions are needed unless you enjoy the taste of iron. The unit I looked at was over $7,000 dollars at the time. If the cost comes down I’ll reconsider.

I use an air needler and or sandblaster (if necessary) then soak in H3PO4 (Phosphoric acid) deluded to 25% by weight, not volume. Comes out with all the rust dissolved and etched for paintwork, then I neutralize the waste with KOH (potassium hydroxide) and spread it out as a 100% safe fertilizer. Iron Potassium and Phosphorous, yummy yummy!

To tell you the truth, I wouldn’t mind owning one!

Woman have the quality of the sheet metal used for some late 1970’s European cars.

The metal was internally contaminated with copper and rust spots would mushroom out right in the middle of the sheets.

In early 1982, my father’s Fiat 131 from 1976 was just a pile of rust and had fist thick holes in the bottom.
He fixed it but when that thing came off the jack all by itself in 1988, we gave up.

And everything else on this car was defective so often…

During that time the brand FIAT got named “Fehler In Allen Teilen” (Faults in all parts) and his colleagues always mocked him with that.

I guess my father was the only man on this planet ever to get 188,000 km out of this s~~~ty car. I can’t complain: It gave him the opportunity to teach me how to fix cars, from engine overhauls to paint jobs and welding.

To remove water-rust stains from places like bathtub drains or sinks or anywhere,
I mix baking powder and apple cider vinegar into a spreadable paste .. apply to stain and cover with plastic wrap for awhile or even overnight .. the stain literally washes away with minor scrubbing. Also, this paste easily removes deep set-in coffee and tea stains on glass cups and beakers in seconds. Just rubbing some dampened baking soda, alone, on a coffee cup with rim stains removes the tough stain in a couple of seconds. The cup looks brand sparkling new.

I just thought about the molasses method and dug up a video, I’m doing my 1950 MG-TD rear tub this way using a kiddy pool. I may even do the frame this way.

The guy in the video complains about water rusting the steel as soon a oxygen gets to it, I’m leaving him a comment to use alcohol or acetone to chase the water base away, stops rust bleeding from the seams that take time to dry if an air blower can’t chase it away, using both a squeeze bottle with solvent and an air blower rust has no time to form. Alcohol or acetone doesn’t rust steel the water is displaced. I know how to do body and paint the right way, and the hack way, I do both where each is appropriate. Time is money, don’t waste it brushing out gold leaf over an ugly worthless pig.

Molasses is the bestest’ and cheapest!
