I have lurked the site for a while and found some useful, insightful info, and also some silly drama (unfortunately) but decided to signup to make a post in the “hitting the wall” photo thread. (I will get to that later this week.)

I watched bits of some hallmark Christmas movies this week, after over a decade of not watching them, and was really struck by what I saw. And then tonight I saw another poster touched on it, and I had to respond with my thoughts.

At Keymaster’s suggestion I will throw that post up here, and will post a follow-up here if more info is needed/wanted.

Any conversation on this topic is most welcome by me.

caught small parts of 3 of the newer movies making their rounds on Hallmark, and let me tell you they are amazingly bad, but also very reflective and telling of women and the state of romance these days.

I should tell you (as this is my first post) that I am in my 50’s, and I was married and blue pill for 15 years. I Married a blushing, cheerful 110 pound fake soulmate and divorced a 250 pound resentful, lazy parasite. So I watched a few of these types of movies in my BP days with her, and though they would never be a man’s favorite movie, you could at least watch them with your woman and feel it offered you something (blue pill fairy tale BS about you being loved for who you were deep inside etc. Normal guy gets the woman instead of Chad Thunderc~~~)

The movies back then were pretty formulaic, a couple of nice attractive people (maybe Elizabeth shue and John Stamos types) who were in love in High school, went out into the world and drifted apart. Maybe they had divorces, or maybe they never married etc. and now they reconnect and find love. They were normal people, good people etc. They get back together, some misunderstanding or another threatens to break them up again, but the work through it and find love.

Then sometime in the 90’s they changed. Now the woman was highly successful, Though you did find them attractive and with good personalities etc. and what we would now recognize as being kicked off the CC, or in that process. She gave her boss porn star sex and let him degrade her (not in the script, other than they had an affair of course) and he never left his wife as he promised. She is damaged goods, but the process has opened her heart to change. She returns home and after some soul searching falls for (settles for) the nice guy park ranger, deputy, fireman, local artist etc. He seems like an average good guy, but in the end AFTER she has fallen for him: HAPPY ENDING – He is RICH!

The three new movies that I saw bits of this week were totally different. They guys were all fit cheesecake or frat bro aristocrat types, Chiseled jaw lines, handsome and plenty of Alpha signaling. Meanwhile the women…. ehhhh…. SMV 5’s or 6’s at best. Nothing special about them or their personalities. I mean seriously, the type you forget 5 minutes after they tell you their name. The dudes jump through hoops to get with them, falling instantly in love with their bitchy, aloof personalities, and the woman does not respond at all to it until it is immediately revealed (first 10 minutes of movie) that he is a filthy rich CEO who used to front a rock band etc. Then suddenly they are precious giggly princesses which the man visibly adores at every moment.

It is quite jarring to behold the out of whack expectations of women that they play with/acknowledge openly. The women love it, but of course if you were to write the same thing as your observations of modern women you would be a misogynist.

Appreciate your introduction.

I am a dyed-in-the-wool Misogynist and am certain that the end of Western Civilization began when Women were given the right to vote.

Sometime in 2016, a wise MGTOW wrote about Red Pill Rage and the healing process. He suggested that it was possible to get to a place of serenity where I could watch a Hallmark Romance movie, not get triggered, and enjoy the film.

So, I watched some as a self-diagnostic exercise and it turned out to be a good time.

Your analysis of the films PRR is brilliant. I would only add that those Hallmark films end abruptly after the marriage.

My inner Misogynist would like to include to following type of “Before and After” pictures at the end of each Hallmark Romance movie:

Alas, I am still attracted to healthy woman in spite of all the bad s~~~ that has happened after being involved with them. Perhaps it is conditioning or being genetically hard wired.

Nevertheless, MGTOW is now the only choice for me, but I am well aware of the “Siren’s Call” and the ease with which I can be manipulated.

What happens when a man finally comprehends the cold and calculating thoughts that are going through a woman's mind, while her eyes are brimming with tears?

I used to eat that s~~~ up from TV, movies, music and advertising. Now with my MGTOW glasses on I see where and how I was led to believe some things that did a lot of harm to me, and derailed more than half of my entire life. I don’t embrace or agree with everything said here. If I did I wouldn’t be a MGTOW. I had to learn the hard way that going your own way is all about saying no to many things woman, ideas and much more.

If you rescue a damsel in distress, all you will get is a distressed damsel.

The Christmas movies of the past were certainly the equivalent of pez dispensers for blue pills. The women were seemed lovable, potential loyal, nurturing and loving life partners. Sex wasn’t really included in the script. It was all above the board fairy tale s~~~.

I admit I generally walked away from them feeling good about things, with warmth in my pathetic BP heart.

As repugnant as the newer movies are, at least they are more honest. No way the woman is giving a normal guy even the sniff of a chance. That is spelled out right off the bat, in big bold letters. He better look like Tom Cruise in his prime, and have the career of Zuckenberg! Oh, and he needs serious PUA alpha game. That really stood out to me. Where they used to meet “cute” and the guy would be well liked and respected for his decency and good deeds in the small town, the guy now is just a wolf who sees what he wants and moves in with fangs flashing.

That is really the heart of the matter, isn’t it?

The movie itself is a microcosm of the movie making process, which is a microcosm of society. The plain unremarkable SMV 4-6 woman in the movie needs to make no effort to get the SMV 9-10 man. The movie makers feel no need to do anything to give men blue pills in the movie, it is only entitlement porn for the womenz. Just as society offers nothing to keep men on the plantation beyond shaming them to man up.

I have discovered a truly remarkable list of reasons why women are not necessary for a happy life, but alas this margin is too small to contain it.
