No one is uncontactable but rich/ famous people usually have someone who will act as a filter. There is no need to be afraid of going through the filters. Just call up her publicist and get her PA’s number, then phone the PA. If you call in a confident business like manner, not trying too hard you will get a hearing.

If you do actually get her number and you have not gone through a filter first you had better have a really good opening line or you will just go straight on a blocked caller list and anything else you send will just be disregarded, it is better to follow the correct route.

It usually helps to know what someone is called within their social circle. Do her friend’s and business associates really call her Madonna? What is her PA’s name (preferably nickname)? Find those things out first. If you call the publicist’s office asking for the PA’s number, confidently calling the PA by name you will get it.

Then you call up the PA and say you are Dr X from Y and you her publicist has suggested you call Mrs Stinky Fanny about Z.

Its just a case of getting through the filter of a personal assistant and everyone with a good reason will get through because otherwise the PA will get in heaps of trouble if they shut out the wrong people. Good PAs do not exclude people who call with good reasons. Even Madonna’s plumber and her builder probably have her personal mobile phone number so they can tell her when they are arriving but they were called by the PA first.

I have occasionally worked for some noteworthy people. Its been said a great deal but it is true -they are all just people. As surely as hot women sniff out men and categorise them into high value men whose attention they want, mid value with friend zone potential and pond life to ignore/ avoid, so famous people and their PAs will sniff out someone star struck and nervous and instantly put them in the pond life category and ignore them. However if deal you with them like any other person you deal with in your daily life (giving them no more deference than anyone you normally deal with) you will have a perfectly normal interaction (often surprisingly so).
