So first, I will explain. I was talking to a female recruiter, a rank 1 YN who had switched MOS’s multiple times, no doubt her excuse for being terrible at her jobs (as she gave me false information several times) over a course of 4 weeks, trying to figure out if I wanted to be active or reserve, as that was really the only decision I was making at the time as I had already decided on an IT MOS in the coastguard.

I am just doing my thing during those 4 weeks, not giving her any attention outside of the recruiting office (and I was getting a weird vibe from her, like she was into me, I didn’t really know her that well). Anyway week 5 comes round and I go into the recruiting office for what was the final time (all I had left to do was the physical, and I had an officer score for the ASVAB, so everything seemed fine).

BUT THEN Some random Rank 1 C~~~ and I cannot emphasize C~~~ enough, is the greeter/receptionist and starts trying to be my DI right in the middle of the recruiting office, when I resist my recruiter chimes in as well, sighting a bunch of bulls~~~ reasons as to why I was not complying to her (presumably older “sister” in the coast guard) RIGHT THAT INSTANT (I still complied btw, just not fast enough for her I guess). In the recruiting office she threatens to disqualify me for the coast guard (my recruiter at this point was trying to say it wasn’t a threat, and she was wrong, and I knew it was a threat).

So, I then resume my process after this c~~~ grills me for no (real) reason, I pay slightly more to my recruiters good side and give her a few looks (by this point I can tell she wants the D) but it’s already too late C~~~ has made up her mind and my recruiter (being the hive minded fem bots they are) nary offers a word in my defense to their chief, who then disqualifies me for the coast guard (with second hand bulls~~~ information from C~~~ and my recruiter). All of this came from me not taking off my PRESCRIPTION sun glasses fast enough for this C~~~.

Stay strong brothers, there are some crazy bitches out there!

None of what you said makes sense. Unless you have taken the oath and have a DS/DI, no one should be yelling, screaming, or harassing you in anyway, shape, or form. As far as anything physical goes, only a male should have performed any such evaluations or tasks.

There is no ASVAB score that will qualify you for an Officer. You have to have a college degree, Officer Candidate School, and a commission. In my MOS, we all had the top 1% of ASVAB scores at the time. If we wanted to go officer, like anyone else in the Army, we had to have a degree, OCS, and a Commission.

If what you say is what really happened, just go to another recruiting station and try again.

@Big D You are correct on all counts sir, and the not making sense part is par for the course when dealing with females, but I got a call the following day from my coast guard recruiter telling me that she and the C~~~ talked to their chief and I was disqualified. Can you shed any light on that?

Document everythingand go through your two senators’ and one representative’s offices.

When going into any situation like this, it may be that you got a real hag. If you start to get the same “business” in a navy office, POLITELY excuse yourself and go to one in the next town.

You still have Navy/Marines/Army/Air Force to go.

With any recruiter sign absolutely nothing until you have a copy of what they are promising you in writing.

Maybe you can try a different Coast Guard office in another town. Dress sharply, short haircut, fresh shave, yes sir no sir yes mam no mam and try again. They might be bluffing at the prior office, OR they might have done some BS writeup lying that you are disrespectful/belligerent etc. Making a friend in the second office may result in his sharing with you what actually went down according to their paper trail.
That lawyer idea is a good one.

What did they state the reason for the disqualification?

Great point by BigD. It would be reasonable for the reason to be required to be available.
I met a guy four years ago who had been faced with BS of the same genre. Through sheer persistence he was able to get his slot. It may very well be like with some insurance companies where they will pair you with bulls~~~ter after bulls~~~ter until they see that you will not give up, THEN they put you through to “the nice guy”
    Hope this helps.
Any details help us to help you.

Beware that going through your congressmen’s offices carries a lot of clout. You must absolutely be accurate to a knife’s edge or it can backfire. It’s akin to going to nuclear ordinance.

    female recruiter

I found the problem. She’s a woman so she doesn’t take her “job” seriously. To her it’s just a welfare check. And she gets to f~~~ with other people at the same time.

“They” didn’t state the reason, but if I had to guess, it would be belligerence or disrespect, even though no such things occurred on my end.

Military service isn’t what it used to be. They have quotas just like everyone else, and they have to give out so many good grades and promotions to appease the government. One of the last meritocracies is gone, and it’s sad to see men getting snuffed to appease some quota number.

A recruiter turning away a person? Sounds a little fishy.

They are under a lot of pressure to get people to sign.

And the worst part was that my recruiter didn’t even start that bulls~~~, it was some random rank 1 greeter/secretary at the office that day.

I was denied around 2010 by some CG ladies myself because I had ONE case of going to the hospital over pneumonia-related reasons (swine flu in 2009) and they said “they don’t have the medics that are capable enough of taking care of me out in the workplace if anything happened to me.”

It really hurt me because I first went in there and was told I was too overweight…240 at 6’3″ and was told I have to be 220 lbs. I spent the next few weeks (yes, WEEKS) working out hard and dropped to about 223. After all that, they made another excuse to deny me…and they said there was no chance of me joining.
