I really do not know where to put this post, so i will just post it here.

I was always this kinda guy who likes to challenge himself. Now that women are out of the way I decided to do something cool and risky.

So I quit my job at the military (which I loved, but paycheck was really bad) and I decided to go b~~~~ to the wall. I am moving out of my country and I am going to England (Manchester). I have enough savings to live there unemployed for at least 6 months (in this time i need to get a job and settle). Plane ticket is bought, apartment all set up, papers are good.

I always wanted to throw myself in a completely different country with no real safety net. Sink or swim. So its all up to me. I have a felling I will learn a lot and of course grow as a person. It is going to be hell, but that is the only way to truly improve on your skills.

Has anyone here done this before? If so any tips would be appreciated. For all of you England mates what should I be on a lookout for in England?
If anyone here is from Manchester it would be great if we could meet up or something.

Well have a nice day and if you guys are interested I can keep you guys on track what is going on and how am I doing.

    Cheers!

Always going big, Yeah you know the kid, Call me haymaker.

Europe is just as bad as Canada when it comes to feminism. I’d advice you not to move there at all. Right now I’m the U.S. and I hate it for the most part.

If I ever had the chance to do what you’re doing, I’d instead move down to a South American or Asian country. Hell, I’d even rather move to South Africa than Europe.

That money you saved up could go even further in a place such as Thailand.

@haymaker, Good luck man! I have done this many times in my life. I once lived on a powerless sailboat for a year. I loved it. ADVENTURE! Nothing can cure your soul like testing yourself. Look online for the cheapest spot you can find where you can cook, shower and sleep. You can always move later once you find employment and feel more settled. Eat less low quality food, fast for a day once and a while. Make sure the water you drink is filtered. Please keep us notified of your progress. Congratulations, you are MGHOW.

i’ve done exactly this, but to a country where i didn’t know the language when i first arrived. still there more than a decade later. communication difficulties were (are) by far the biggest hinder to success, so i think you’ll be fine- especially with the type of attitude that comes from having a military background. i think this is an excellent idea for you! i bet if you look around online you can find a group or two for expats from your home country that will be a fantastic resource for getting set up.
