Getting the warm and fuzzies over Cupcake? Live in Virginia?
In Virginia there is lifetime Alimony and a Judge can pretty much do
whatever he/she decides when it comes to Awarding Alimony (how much and how long)

    http://www.vagazette.com/news/va-vg-edit-letters-alimony-20160802-story.html

After a judge told an 84-year-old man that he had to keep working to pay alimony and couldn’t retire, Massachusetts ended permanent alimony. Permanent Alimony should terminate at retirement because it’s unfair to older Americans who can’t afford to pay.

Virginia requires spouses to pay permanent alimony and this denies older Americans the right to retire

For an average wage earner, Social Security benefits are $27,432 a year. According to the IRS, average alimony is $20,985 a year. During retirement, less than $7,000 remains i.e., the receiving spouse forces the paying spouse to live in poverty.

Among those Americans with a disability, 40 percent are over 65. The employment rate for disabled workers somewhere below 50 percent. The average monthly disability payment is $1,130 a month, enough to live above poverty but not to pay alimony. The average wait to receive the first check is 1 ½ years.

In 2014, almost half of those unemployed over age 55 had been unemployed for 27 weeks or longer. Unemployment for the average worker is $1,512 a month for 26 weeks. Older workers spend more time searching for work, accept lower wages, become discouraged and give up.

Under Virginia law, only a receiving spouse can terminate alimony and can pursue legal action against those who can’t pay..

Virginia statute states, “Upon conviction, a person shall be punished by a fine or confinement in jail for no more than 12 months.” Virginia pays $168,000 per year to confine someone who’s only fault is a failed marriage.

He should fake his own death.

    Great article. Truly chilling.

I don’t know what recourse this guy has. Maybe he could have his physician testify that he is incapable of safely working at his late age.

I have seen elderly men with their attorney successfully use disability laws to assist in this type of situation.

Could his social security be garnished if he fled to avoid alimony (I don’t know)?

Lifetime alimony is patently unfair. The same women who demand equality are the same women who
want to see this modern day slavery continue.

    Disgusting.

I would disappear if that were me. F~~~ that piece of s~~~ judge and f~~~ the garbage ex slag.

I guarantee that if the ex wife were the bread earner during their marriage that the courts would absolve her of any duty to pay once she retired.

you got to be a real low life piece of s~~~ if you can stare into the eyes of an 84 yo and tell him he has no right to retire because of alimony.

    God bless peace and freedom.

This is just wrong! At that age, the man should be allowed to settle down instead of being obligated to a woman who left him for his hard working money.

Just is just like the divorce between my aunt and uncle. She leaves him, he’s paying for alimony and child support on 4 kids that was raised to hate him. She lives in her own house with 4 kids, while he’s living in the basement of his parents house because my aunt is bleeding him dry. He knows that they will incarcerate him if he doesn’t pony up HIS money to them. I feel sorry for him; my immature bitch of an aunt leaves him with the 4 kids and he’s has to pay up for it while she’s living in a nice house while he’s living in a basement of his old parent’s house?!

So I have a new reason not to get married. Why should I live with someone who’s going to nag me and drain my money away?! What a horrible way to live.

Hell even CrossFit athlete Dan Bailey even said in a CrossFit video that he lives as a bachelor because its a great way to live, after being asked by women to appear on “The Bachelor.”

If I was that guy, I would become a fugitive. Paying alimony for the rest of your short remaining life, is not right.

Maybe become like Walter White and live in a remote cabin in New Hampshire.

    Thanks. Here is the kicker.
Say you get married in some other state which doesn’t have lifetime Alimony.
Cupcake knows this, does a little research, separates and moves to a state that does have lifetime Alimony
waits the minimum required time to become a resident and THEN files for divorce.
Like what Tom Cruise’s wife did: fled to New York and filed for Divorce there.

Now you not only have to visit another state to go to court…making it harder to fight the divorce
but the terms and odds of ass raping you financially are even higher.

I would just let them throw me in jail. That old bitch gets no money and I don’t have to work and get my meals brought to me. Free medical care and a place to stay. The court and that bitch can just go to hell. If enough men did that anyway the laws would be changed in a hurry. The State can’t afford to have all those men in jail. The cost of keeping them in there, plus the cost of the loss of tax revenue plus the loss of production done by men. Get rid of all your assets and go to jail. convert everything into cash and hide it.

Women's brains and vagina have one thing in common. There is nothing in there until a man puts something in there.
