I just heard today about a man practicing law and getting $550 per hour because there is such a high demand for this type Domestic Lawyer service. F~~~ing Wow.

Mind you, this is an area consistently voted ‘top place to live’ in the US, and also THIS has a nice ring to it:

According to Forbes.com, being family friendly is the “hippest” thing to be for American cities wanting a robust future. As the millennial generation enters its primary child-raising years, these “thirtysomethings” are seeking cities that offer quality schools, affordable housing and long-term economic security. Forbes found that, by these measurements, Raleigh is the nation’s leading “Baby Boomtown.” – September 2014

    From Vancouver, British Columbia

A divorce lawyer here just got dis-barred.  He was representing a woman (his client) in a divorce action while at the same time carrying on an affair with the soon to be ex-wife.  That wasn’t the bad part.  He was caught adding his full hourly charge-out rates to his bill for all the time he spent screwing her.  The ex-husband of course was paying the ex-wife’s bill.   Great work when you can get it.  Justice for men eh?

Most lawyers are broke and unemployed. You can easily become a lawyer but you’ll be broke and unemployed.

Might as well become a singer, actor, athlete or CEO. Those all get paid a lot more money than lawyers if you’re one of the top ones, which is pretty much what you’d have to be to charge a high hourly rate and actually get people to pay it. The legal field collapsed back in 2008 and isn’t going to come back, but the shambles of the middle class still like to babble and blame everything on this mystical “lawyers” power structure.

While ignoring the bankers, businessmen and politicians that run everything.

All I know, is that my buddy is only half way through his divorce – and he is already $20k in the hole for his own costs.  OTOH, his lawyer is a gunslinger and has completely shot down every false allegation her lawyer has made.  In this case, it is money well spent – he had his moment of clarity and is in “burn it down” mode and doesn’t care how much it costs.

    Sovereignty above all else.
