Anonymous16Hey guys me again LOL, i would like to know who keeps fit well into there 40 50 60 and higher.
I just started HIIT training might as well post the links to
so far i try to do this once a day 10 minutes i am out of breath, i do stop a few times and its hard. I still got fat to lose and i want to push myself i got a 20 minute version by the same people they are great i love it, motivating and not annoying.
I train with the adonis index 3.0 program now its been almost a year 4 phase program its not free but my sport doctor got it for me so i did not pay.
I am schedule for 3 more PRP treatments to really fix the nagging parts my hips still snap and so on ligament is still laxed in there. My goal i will be 45 in June i would really like to start martial arts again not sure which one, i rather go for intense then forms and kata i hate that, stop doing karate and switch to tae kwon do because of that.
My energy level is high my natural testosterone is high too for my age, i guess all the weight training helps with this too.
Intermittent fasting is also going good back on track after 2 weeks of total crap eating. LOL
So what to you guys do to keep fit, diet training cardio wise…….
Once you hit 40 you don’t need the food you did as a younger man. I am stable at 1200 calories a day and eat 2000 calories on Mon, Wed and Fri which are my workout days.
Check all your foods for sugar, corn syrup, fructose and sucrose. Refined sugars will f~~~ up your diet. Ditch soda and just drink water.
Usual, eat larger proportions of vegetables and fruits. Reduce your refined breads and pasta. Up your intake of meat during workout days.It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion, it is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning; it is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.
Anonymous42Listen to chir^^^, and do outside activities like biking and skiing, It’s good to exhaust yourself and feel some burn, keep up the endurance. Don’t drink alcohol either it’s pure nutritiousness calories and causes damage to the liver needed to keep the blood clean, lots of H2O to keep the filters (kidneys) clean and running good, dehydration is your #1 enemy, especially here in colder climates. I use a camelback and drink like a fish!
Anonymous5460. Been working out 6 days a week since my early twentys.Lifes better when you feel good.
At home.pushups, sit ups, medium wieghts.Bicycle.
Im not huge, like a scrappy little fighter kinda thing.Try this book and food combinations:
https://www.amazon.com/Tao-Health-Sex-Longevity-Practical/dp/067164811XI’m 50’s 5’11 and have weighed between 155 and 170 continuously for over 15 years. I pretty much eat when hungry. I have a desk job but walk 2-1/2 miles a day and have a morning Tai-Chi, push up thing with meditation.
I’m told I look 40’s, it’s all about energy.
Anonymous16No alcohol never always hated the taste, i do eat sugar LOL i am massive pretty massive i want to shed down and get that MMA fighter look i really like that.
Don’t lift super heavy either since i injured my back at 29 lesson learned. I got everything at home GS1 multi station free weights and so on.
I mix up my days too sometimes low carb, some times vegan, its a bit hard to do something on training days because i train almost everyday.
I bought myself a lightweight sluice box and I’ve started to do a little bit of panning. Climbing up and down the stream is really a workout for me. Over 40 and exercise walking over one mile round trip for mail each weekday and Saturday that I find myself at home. I figure I probably hike a little over 400 miles each year for the Postal Service.
I’m 54 and have always stayed in decent shape, and I’ve never been overweight.
Power Yoga is my daily go-to workout, as well as plenty of pull ups. I also ride my bike to work quite a bit.
I’m an avid mountain biker, even in the winter when I use my fat tire bike with studded snow tires. I also use my fat bike for bikepacking, where I load all of my camping gear on it and then go ride off into a National Forest or down the endless dirt farm roads that scar this state. Here’s a pic of my rig, Pugslina.
But backpacking in America’s designated Wilderness Areas is my favorite thing to do. But the state I’m living in now has only one, tiny Wilderness Area that’s five hours away, so I mostly get my exercise fun from biking.
I don’t workout to shape my body like I did when younger. Now I workout for functionality. Can I do the activities I want to when I have the time? That’s what drives my training regime.
Watch the salt intake too. It’ll leave you bloated and most pre-packaged or canned foods are swimming in salt. Also keep those oh so good breakfast meats down to a minimum, like once a week or less. I know.. it sucks.
Then find some exercise thing you enjoy doing that you can do frequently. Cross-Fit has a lot of variety and every workout is different and it’s a combo of cardio/weight stuff so it’s a good all over workout every time that’ll keep you from getting bored.
A few years ago I started working out and changed my diet. The main culprits to stay away from are bread and sugar. There is no magic way to lose fat fast, you just have to change your routine to be more active and eat better. It took me a 6 months to lose about 25 pounds, then I plateaued and stayed at the same weight for a long time even though I was working out 3-5 times a week. I ended up changing my diet again and dropped more. Overall I lost 45 pounds and kept it off. I’d like to lose another 15-20 so I am now going to try juicing, at least for breakfast and/or dinner, while eating a healthy lunch.
Anonymous16Fad diets will make you lose tone of weight fast, but as soon as you start eating normal you will gain and then some.
Low carb diets have been in vogue since the mid 90 and are coming back now because apparently they could help with tones of health issues and cancer.
Along with intermittent fasting following the advise of my sport doctor i tried keto for about 3 weeks, after failing many attempt at low carb dieting, joining various groups on internet and facebook pages.
Getting into dumb arguments will zelous idiots about macros and keto diet worst you look at these people and they look like s~~~ hahha and they tell you what to eat…. go figure.
Bottom line is your body is gonna tell you. The Twinkies diet the dumbest diet i have ever heard yet the guy lost 27 pounds doing it for 2 months which is far better then most people lose on any diet eating cakes but just below is required calories, a few celery and carrot and a protein shake. All is markers went down cholesterol triglycerides and so on……
There is a huge market for supplements ranging from cancer prevention hair growth, weight loss and more and most if not all of it is pure crap unproven to make you spend money.
I have used so many supplements in my life time that where worthless. Whey protein made me fat, creatine watery fat and so on the only supplement that was amazing during that time was ephedrine that would give you the six pack in no time with proper food intake and training.
Food allergies this is where it lies, gluten most people are and dairy, i have never met anyone allergic to meat but eating too much gets boring.
My best training years where my first years where i trained and did not pay attention to protein requirements carbs and other s~~~ like that dumb ass macros, i ate when hungry, ate a bit less to lose weight and everything was fine.
The confusion started when i first read the six small meals per day myth and started reading diet books like atkins and so on with studies on how bad that food is compared to that food and so on.
