    Good one Blade.
Also the men who went up building steeples on their own. Hardy men.
I worked summers in construction and as a scaffolder in my youth. Enjoyed it – good money at the time.

One of the few things from Time that ain’t total crap. Then again, it’s based on something from over 85 years ago. Thanks for sharing! You know that only MEN would do that kinda work- then or now.

We just don't realize life's most significant events while they're happening. Back then, I thought, "Well, there'll be other days". I didn't realize that that was the only day. - "Moonlight" Graham

    No kidding.

A 2018 photo of construction workers would be full of drop outs, drug addicts, alcoholics and the homeless.

    Made me think of this.
The b~~~~ on the helo pilot and the b~~~~ on the lineman are bigger than the one being installed on the wire.
I wonder how many females are in this business.

They rest in peace forever the men who built this Town
But their names not on a memorial wall to honour their renown
And not one mention of them when we honour the dead
We glorify monarchs and presidents but nothing of them said.

They built the homes and factories and sweated for their every pay
But with the long forgotten dead forever they must lay
And they made this Town a better place to live in for us all
Yet their enormous contribution we never do recall.

To the men who built this Town tonight my toasting glass I’ll raise
And though others of them don’t wish to hear I feel obliged to sing their praise
Their ought to be a dead workers day to them a debt we owe
Though of their contribution to society far too few wish to know.

The heroic men who built this Town at rest forever more
They built the factories and the homes old Joe who lived next door
Was one of the men who built this town he died a year ago
A grand old bloke and one that I felt privileged to know.

Imagine being born Male in America, between 1913-1918.

From about the age of 12 to age 20, you live through the Great Depression!

At age 25, you get drafted into this little thing we call WW2, oh joy…..

This is probably why we call them the Greatest Generation, they were incredibly hardened men. These were the guys (in their forties by then) that made the 1950’s as androcentric as it could be. After growing up in poverty and coming of age through literal combat, they did not take s~~~ off of women.

We’ll always look upon them with inspiration and respect. However, their grittiness & fortitude was birthed through misfortune of having been born in that time. It was a natural male reaction to the cards they drew. They were not anymore masculine or brave than men today. Get that straight right now. I’ve heard it before on this site and I always correct it. You want to shame men, go join WGTOW. Give me the weakest little effiminate, cell phone addicted hipster boy…I will turn him in to a god damn Chesty Puller. Its in all of us.
