Whilst the mother is undoubtedly exploiting the situation for her own gain, I don’t think she is funding or controlling the girl – there are much bigger and nastier people behind this phenomenon.

When she first appeared she was a failed pop singer. The PR people have been at work polishing her image.

The fact is this – sure emissions may be warming the planet…. maybe a little warmer.. BUT The “extinct events” – that is being caused by habitat clearing, overfishng, feral animals, and plastics in the oceans — NOT EMISSIONS…..

Also – I saw thousands of kids take a day off school, and march, inspired by her … I tell you one thing. Those spoilt little s~~~s are not entitled to speak to me…. when they have paid electricity bills for a few years, when they stop using fossil fuel based transport themselves….. and all day spent consuming electricity (newsflash – it comes from coal ) and then learn about the topic, then they can humbly discuss a complex topic with others. But don’t shout simplictic slogans at me , about a complex topic . I will not listen.

Also – they can start with the acknowledgement – that burning fossil fuels over the last 50 years has raised literally BILLIONS of people in 3rd world countries out of EXTREME POVERTY…. Stop telling me that there is no benefit – while you enjoy – electricity and easy of transport…. First tell me what you are planning to go without – if you want me to listen .

It aggravates me that so many people are listening to schit like her’s and applauding when it’s just nothing but grandstanding and blaming with no real solutions to a problem that isn’t really that bad anyway………and even if it is that bad, what can be done to fix it? As I said above, we can’t stop burning fuels even if we wanted to. What’s the alternative for generating electricity, nuclear? What’s worse, burning fuel, or burying tons of spent radioactive fuel rods? Are electric cars the answer? What happens to all the dead batteries?
