    Let me shed some light on this matter.

    In North Korea in a trial the person on the stand just gets to read the confession that was handed to him, those weren’t his own words, they were written by a North Korea official.

    He just thought he’d get away with it if he played along when they forced him to confess, as far as anyone knows he didn’t even stole the damn banner, the North Koreans might very well just made it up.

    Now let me just say how stupid does anyone has to be to visit North Korea? Specially an American?
    Don’t wanna bad mouth the guy, but if I had to bet I’d say he’s a left wing socialist that believes the world is pink and we should all co exist peacefully without borders.

    North Korea is just pure evil. I feel sorry for the guy, because 15 years of hard labor where he’s going to be abused and all for something stupid. He’s going to be 36 when he gets out, if he survives. He’s not going back to his normal life after that, if he survives. He’s ruined and all for a stupid banner.

    Maybe he is a left-winger who thinks the whole world is peaceful, but still, this isn’t right.

    I agree it’s stupid to go to a country like that. It kind of reminds me of those hikers that got arrested for crossing into Iran some years ago.
