    “Someone is impersonating the oldest man in America.

    Family members of Richard Overton, the 112-year-old World War II veteran who lives in Austin, learned that his personal bank account had been drained on Friday.

    “Someone set up a bogus account, got his Social Security number and accessed his personal checking account,” said Volma Overton, who is Overton’s third cousin.

    According to Volma, whoever accessed the money used it to buy savings bonds with Treasury Direct, and has been doing so for a few months.

    “This is going to be a setback for Richard,” Volma said. “It was a significant amount of money.”

    Thankfully, the bank account was not connected to Overton’s GoFundMe page which finances his 24/7 in-home care. Since its inception in December 2016, the page has raised more than $320,000, though a large portion of that money has already been spent.

    Once it’s gone and the caregivers go, Volma fears Overton will, too.

    Volma said he and a friend would sort out this money issue. He filed a police report on Friday.

    As for Overton, he’s still doing the things he loves, and recently celebrated his 112th birthday on May 11. He’s the oldest man in America, verified by the Gerontology Research Group, and the oldest U.S. veteran

    When the weather is nice, Overton sits on his front porch. His friends call it his “stage.” He’ll hum with the birds, snoop on his neighbors and wave at honking cars. Best of all, it’s where he smokes most of his 12 daily cigars, and sometimes drinks his favorite drink, a whiskey and Coke.”

    I see a rise and difference in my own community of people taking advantage of our handicapped and elderly .

    P.S. I signed up to Lifelock identity protection with Norton security, I have no regrets, I’m also getting a Norton Core router for added protection, and thinking about a VPN. I just want my personal security breach to end.

    It’s getting harder and harder for these bastards to cash out on your credit when countermeasures are established and taken, it’s up to you to protect your identity and no one else, I’m taking proactive measures for now on.

    I have never bought bonds, but going to guess like all securities they are numbered and have a shipping to address. Being as you have exact date and time for each transaction. It should simply be a matter of going and arresting the person and recovering the bonds.

    People regularly scam the old folks. This one lady in my apartments is still living in her dead mother’s condo and hasn’t switched the ownership (going on over a year) because she gets old people discount on property tax. She probably votes for her dead mom too. Fraudulent bitch.

    I thought our deposits are FDIC insured? Isn’t cyber theft the same as any other bank theft and subject to federal investigation and prison sentencing if caught?

    Or do they only pamper postal workers so they can be spoiled little bitches and have tantrums killing their coworkers?

    Oh, it trickled the f~~~ down. My food bill has doubled in the past seven years. I’m now DIY on any f~~~ing thing that I can do. Taxes being raised. Insurance costs skyrocketing. I see way fewer people at restaurants. Stores closing left and right. $75,000 f~~~ing pickup trucks. Fast food is now inedible. I don’t know what the f~~~ they put in it.
