    Hmm that’s interesting. Similar to you I have a weekly journal where I make sure I’m on track with all my goals. I’ve had it for almost 3 years now. The first 2
    years (when I was in my relationship) she hated it and would constantly tease me about it. I think you nailed it on the head mate.

    That’s fascinating. I’ve been thinking about this tonight and I think maybe it just goes to show how conformist a lot of women are–women seem to expend a huge amount of effort in worrying about what other people think of them (although plenty of men do too). Not necessarily blaming them because I think our society trains women to be like this, not to go out on a limb so much and to value the hive. So when women see men taking charge of their lives like this, maybe it’s envy at our confidence and freedom.

    I had a slightly similar experience with my ex when I made a spreadsheet of our spending to try to keep track of it. She took one look at it and said “I never want to see a spreadsheet like this again. Ever.” I think in that case she knew that monitoring our outgoings would somehow put me in control of expenditure.

    Now I have the most awesome spreadsheet of my expenditure ever 😀
