I grew up with a mother who drank heavily, complained incessantly, slept around, and upon divorcing exposed me to an endless string of violent substance abusing men. She was constantly on the prowl for gold in the local bars. It took some strong wrangling (and I'd imagine some serious threats) for my father to get custody back. Things were good, until the new stepmother came into the picture. She drove a wedge between my father and his children and pussywhipped him into emphasizing her own children and grandchildren. I've always been disappointed that my father gave in to her. My early years of dating were a drunken haze of hot idiot girls who walked all over me in various ways. It was not until I got sober in 2013, adopted new religious beliefs, and resumed dating a "good girl" that even the classiest women are still only interested in the "appearance" of a good relationship.
