Married for 7 years and divorced since 2013. I've had a pretty full education with a masters degree and a JD. No, not a trial lawyer. I work as an underwriter for an insurance company, so I try to be a good guy when I can. My father died from cancer when I was 18. My mother and brother live about 40 miles away and Insee them often. He never married, clever fellow. I've always been an avid reader, mostly economic history but I am also starting to read some philosophy. I love road trips in my free time. Historical sites are always a favorite. Lately I've been going through a great purge, throwing out the excess stuff in my life and getting down to essentials. It is a welcome disciplinary move because I've pissed away too much money. I want to start focusing more on self improvement, strengthening my mind and body. It's an important thing to do as I grow older. As for hobbies, I enjoy metal detecting when I can, for air and exercise if nothing else. I also really enjoy gold panning, but don't get to do it much as the closest panning site to me is about 10 hours away. I've travelled to Europe twice, returning from last trip just before 9/11. I stil want to go back once more to visit Scotland. My biggest love in life is my dog Dixie, sort of a lab mix. She's 11 now. Tough to watch her growing old. Aside from that, what else can I tell you? I'm kind of a solitary soul by choice. I never liked large crowds or making small talk. It's physically exhausting to me, if that makes any sense. I feel like the past 50 years were preparation for the remainder of my life. I won't stop making mistakes, but I'm looking forward to not making the same old ones anymore. Cheers!
