I keep getting this as a response on these online dating sites.  It’s always followed-up with something like: “…but I’m looking for someone closer to where I live.”  In fact, that very excuse line has been used on me now several times.  I suppose I should be thankful for a response at all.

I bet if I posted a more flattering photo or casually dropped mention of wealth/career success, they’d soon change their tune.  Distance would be no obstacle.  Mountains…oceans….deserts….would be traversable.

I think this is what is happening already.  I have seen every indication that it’s just a place where women seek validation, and for the majority of them, it’s not a real-world exercise.

Her “you seem nice” is a great way for you to turn it around find out if she cares more about PERCEPTIONS – than realities. If she isn’t willing to FIND OUT what you’re like rather than how you seem, then she is not worth a second of your time, and her comment was throw away bulls~~~. Make it work in your favor. You could even ramp it up further and give her a little jab “Don’t put too much stock in your own perceptions.” and make her feel moronic for saying it. She tossed you the comment not expecting a man to play with and mock her on the other end.

Best part is, you can find out A LOT about her this way, BEFORE wasting your time meeting her.

That being said, if you choose to continue: It means if she doesn’t has a date she’ll use you for a free meal and movie. If she starts texting during dinner it’s the guy that broke her original date and will be using the nutrients you just bought her for energy to f~~~ that guy six ways from Sunday.

That’s right now. I got separated in 2009 and there are women still on these sites from back then. Still single, but have to change ‘average’ to ‘a few extra pounds’ or ‘curvy’.
