F~~~ a career, I work a job. A career is for someone that forgot how to dream, and then try and make that dream a reality. I might be 46, but I still know how to dream, and I have the b~~~~ to attempt to make it a reality.

A “job” is just something you do to make enough money…. so that you can afford to do what you want – when you’re not working.

That’s keeping it in the proper MGTOW perspective.

I do believe, however, that a man needs to have a “purpose”. To create a mission for himself and a reason to get up in the morning. I tried the “working at home” thing, but there is something to be said about having a place to go where others are relying on you, to shave, and get in your car to go and do SOMETHING. But as an “employee”, better to keep it in it’s proper perspective. It’s just a “job” so that you can do what you want when you’re NOT working.

Live to work? Or work to live. Those are your choices, really.

That attitude might free a man up to consider he doesn’t NEED his “job”, and losing becomes hardly a tragedy. With that in mind, you can rid yourself of any fear you might have to keep it – even when you hate it and go to work on days you don’t feel it just to make other people money. What bugs me the most about having a “job” is when the “boss” thinks and behaves like you should be grateful for the opportunity.

That is twisted and sick.

I have changed lines of work DRASTICALLY. At least 3 completely opposite “careers” and lives. You would never guess what I used to do for a living – or believe it probably – but the reason I ended up here and do what I do now, is because I did as much as possible. I tried to do EVERYTHING and create as many opportunities as possible and believe that to be the key. Today the idea of doing the same thing for 35 years like my father did is virturally unheard of.

About +10 years ago, I had some “students” and gave one of them that advice. This year at christmas I heard from him for the first time in over a decade and he thanked me for that advice. It was the best Christmas present I got in a long time.

So things work in Germany just like the States. The s~~~ always floats to the top. I threw away a growing small side business to fully dedicate myself to my corporate master back in 2002. Well, I later got repaid for my loyalty by getting kicked rudely the curb when my employer got bought out 9 years later. Hey, they got to make an extra million dollars on the sale from firing me though as I was not on the books in the final sales price so I guess that makes it all OK. Well, here’s a big F~~~ YOU to all you mega-corps who grind up and destroy people. This slave has left the plantation.

I’ve been rebuilding myself as fully self-employed for the past three years. I’d rather work 60 hour weeks for 2/3s the pay than renter a pit of corporate snakes. I often think of how throwing away that book of business 13 years ago is still hurting me to this day.

@Smitty: Great quote as short term focused modern management is all about obedient little robots who live in fear. I’ve watched it continue to get worse over the years too. The problem is that it’s the innovators that provide for the longer term success, and innovators need freedom and are the crazy ones.

@Key: I do have to shave as my clients are high end operations.

@MG-Tower: The worst thing about working with women is having one as a boss. The 80/20 rule applies here. 20% are OK the other 80% are power mad freaks. The odds are better having a man boss, but you still get assholes.

Companies today behave like you should be “privileged” to work for them.
They think only THEY can interview YOU… and not the other way around.

They are almost exactly like women that way. “The relationship” is only permitted to go the way SHE wants, and what you want is not even a basic consideration. For a man to say “no thanks, not interested” is a totally foreign concept to them.
